Marijuana vs cigarettes.. which is more harmful?

One cannot compare the harmfulness of the two, because they do different things.

Both cigarettes and marijuana will fill your lungs with smoke and particulates. Smokers of cigarettes and pot will have poor lung capacity and they'll perform more poorly athletically.

Cigarettes contain tar and other organic chemicals that are carcinogens. So the long-term effect is the potential for cancer, leading to death - since most lung cancers have a low survivability.

Marijuana may fill your lungs with smoke and particulates, and it is mildly carcinogenic. Whenever any organic substance is burned, it contains carcinogens, so those who tell you otherwise don't know what they're talking about. Marijuana is less carcinogenic because the chemicals (called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) are less potent.

Marijuana also reduces your cognitive ability. Basically, your brain slows down permanently. Did you ever wonder why pot heads are portrayed as dim-witted idiots in the media? Chronic long-term pot smokers tend to have a lag in their speech.

I'm not sure which you would consider more harmful.

A shortened lifespan (death by cancer or cardiovascular disease)
vs.
a lower quality of life (lower intelligence, lower potential earning power $$ for life)

Cigarettes are more harmful. Since there are records of people dying due to smoking cigarettes.

There isn't anything were someone died due to smoking weed. Weed is the least harmful out of all the drugs. Though I heard it's safer to eat it than to smoke it. From what I read Marijuana only has a life long negative affect. If you had used it as a teenager. So for adults it doesn't have a last affect like that. Though I'm not an expert and this is just from the MANY websites I tried to find and learn.

Cigarettes, it's more harmful to your body plus it doesn't do anything but reduce your life expansion by 15% and cause cancer. Marijuana on the other hand, is mainly used for medical purposes (or well it's ment to) with stress.

Marijuana on the other hand is a herb, it's activates your silent part of brain, making you spirituality active when taken in right amount with time and practice.
I even read, it's used in shaman ritual when they spiritually try to connect to God, (telepathy)

"More harmful" is a meaningless descriptor. Tobacco and marijuana are harmful in completely different ways.

A person can smoke weed daily for years and never develop the respiratory problems a tobacco smoker does, while a lifelong smoker may develop emphysema or cancer, but will never develop the memory and cognitive issues a long term pot smoker experiences. Which is worse is totally subjective.

Marijuana, there are no FILTERS on what they smoke.
More tar into the lungs vs filtered cigs.
It deposits tar up to 4 times more then cigs.

But the fact of which is more harmful, both are gonna kill you in the end.
