My sister isn't well... Help?

My sister is 26 & she felt suicidal the other day so went to hospital and saw a mental health nurse and then came home, she is waiting for the details to go through to a mental health team and go through to our doctor also. But she needs help ASAP. She spends all day in bed, not eating, cutting herself, feeling down. So my family sent an email to our doctor to explain and he is phoning up tomorrow but what help can he offer her?

Well a support group or a talk with a psychiatrist on one one to understand what is the problem and find ways to solve it , it may not be as easy as it sounds if your sister does not cooperate with her docotrs.

basically there are two ways to solve her problems :
1- the first one does not require the use of drugs , they'll talk her out of it and make some changes in her life to help her overcome any problesm she had.

2- the second method is drugs , they use drugs that work on different parts of the brain in charge of making people depressed and the drugs make this areas less active which helps making the patient less depressed , however these drugs are not guaranteed to work on all patients it may not work on your sister , nontheless these are your options... or electroshocks which is more extreme and probably not needed.

There are partial hospital programs where patients go to the hospital in the morning and come home at night. That provides more intense treatment, which may be what she needs.

They never even mentioned anything like that only a psychologist and change of medication
