I need some advice on helping myself be happier when I get the feeling something bad is going to happen?

In the past 6 months I have worked very hard to turn myself around after a suicide attempt, without medication, by changing my thought processes, meditation, being kind, being creative etc and it really had gone very well. But some times an overwhelming feeling of dread and dark miserable feelings come over me, and it takes me back to that same feeling I had when I wanted to end my life. It completely controls me and it is horrible.
I need some advice on helping myself be happier when I get the feeling something bad is going to happen?
