Lost weight, my husband can't tell?

I recently lost weight...not much about 7 or 8 pounds. My husband hasn't noticed or said anything. His male coworker (who sees me regularly)...said..wow, did you recently lose a lot of weight or something? (which was borderline, inappropriate...but whatever).

How come my husband didn't even notice? Once I told him what his worker said all he could say was...well I can't tell, so why are you trying to lose weight? (somewhat defensively)

Simple.

Weight comes off gradually.

Your husband sees you every day. Effectually, you're asking him to notice the incremental loss of a few ounces, which is very hard to detect.

The coworker sees you occasionally. You've probably lost a number of pounds between the first time of seeing him and the next, which is far more noticeable.

Had your husband been away for 6 weeks, and you'd lost 8 lbs, he'd probably have noticed too. Also, while you're reading his lack of attention in an entirely negative way, you could actually interpret it positively. He asked you why you're trying to lose weight - have you considered that this could be his attempt to tell you that you are gorgeous just as you are?!

However, the underlying issue here is that you feel neglected by your husband, and physically unappreciated by him. In the absence of that affection, comments from other men are boosting your ego. You need to discuss this with him, and explain how much it means to you when he pays you little attentions and compliments. But don't raise the subject in a critical way - tell him that you love him, and want him to appreciate and enjoy your body.

well 7 or 8 pounds isn't really that much to be totally honest its an improvement over what you were before but maybe not enough to drastically change your appearance . maybe he honestly just didn't notice , I don't know .

Well clearly he hasn't noticed it and he might think you are trying to lose it for someone else not him, usually when someone cheats they take interest in their appearance.
