Can't stop laughing after taking a freezing cold shower?

So the water-heater in my apartment failed and now I will have to take cold showers forever.
As I ween myself into the freezing cold water I suddenly couldn't stop laughing , it was as if Joker gas was coming through the ventilation. Literally hysterical , as if I've gone mad. As I type this I still can't stop the occasional giggle getting through.
Anyone has had similar experience? Why's that happening?

You know, I would love to give this a really genuinely good response but I have NEVER heard of this phenomenon.

I think you may just be a touch coocoochachoo my friend, or it's somehow shock related. People deal with intense sensations and emotions differently, kinda like how some people try to laugh off pain or having the shit scared out of them, or even cry after orgasm.

That's my guess.

It's your body reacting to the shock of cold water. We spend most of our time in room temperatures, so high heat and cold situations can cause us to have strange reactions. If your case, you went from room temperature to nearly freezing. Unless you're someone who practices mindfulness regularly, it's no wonder that you laughed hysterically.

When I take cold showers I start breathing heavily. Which I like to think is normal, you on other hand have completely lost it.

Also try making it a bath? Warm up some water on the stove. Then Get buckets of the heated water and put it in the bath for yourself.
