He's probably wrong. An average healthy person could probably last a couple of weeks before dying (I don't know that they would ever faint).
He's wrong, most people will not faint if they go a few days without food. The ability of the human body to endure hardship is extraordinary.

Every year I fast for a week (7 days) nothing but water. I do it to cleanse my system. After about three days I feel like I'm starving but then it seems to go away. But yea, I wouldn't want to go any longer.
Didn't that Bobby Sands go for like a month when he went on his hunger strike? It might even be longer, not sure but you can google it. I know he lost 16lbs after 16 days but that's all I know.
Depending on the perosn, their health, age, body mass etc...
