+1 yDo what bodybuilders do. Bodybuilders have to drop bodyfat during the competition season and quick to get that "my skin has been vacuum sealed on top of my muscles" look. They don't really alter their workouts that much as during the off season, just their diet. They do place a bigger emphasis on cardio than on the off season.
The thing is, your body wants to be where it's at right now because it knows that it is at the peak of its healthy range, and taking it beyond that range is going to require some work because you're fighting against what your body wants and knows to be right. Your body, especially as a woman, wants to have a certain amount of fat. You need it in order to have things like a healthy immune system and overall healthy body functions. This is why professional athletes often allow themselves to 'bulk up' in the off season, to compensate for the fact that during the competition season, in order to be competitive, they have to take their bodyfat into unhealthily low levels that can not be maintained in good health.
That being said...
You need the muscle to achieve your goals. Unless you naturally have the kind of metabolism where you can eat whatever you want and not gain a pound, then having lean muscle on your body is going to be what fuels your metabolism and allows your body to burn fat while at rest. In other words, you will never just be 'thin' no matter what you do. You will always either be what fitness buffs refer to as a 'skinny fat' which means being thin but with no tone whatsoever and what little 'meat' you do have being fat, or you will be lean with visible muscle. These are the choices your genetics gave you to work with and you need to pick one if you want to progress beyond where you are now.
If you want to be a 'skinny fat' then the key is to drop exercise entirely and do it through diet alone.
If you want to be lean with visible muscle then you need to do a combination of cardio and weight training. Doing just one won't cut it. I've seen you posting lots of question mentioning cardio but never weight training. Weights are your friend.
Diet is key in either case. And in order to be able to choose the right diet you need to understand what carbohydrates and protein do for your body. Both are necessary and cutting them entirely will be counterproductive. However, cutting carbohydrates to the BARE MINIMUM they need to be at in order for your body to maintain its functions properly (which requires understanding the difference between gross carbs and net carbs) is one of the most common techniques used by athletes trying to get lean. When you exercise, your body will first reach into its carbohydrate supply for fuel before it begins burning fat. It is very important however that you NOT cut carbs like this for longer than a month, whether you're reached your goal in that month or not.24 Reply- +1 y
And remember, bodyfat is more important to go off of than weight. Weight is a combination of bone, fat, muscle, and water and can fluctuate pretty drastically by the day. It is an inaccurate measure of your fitness, your mass, or how "fat" you are. You must measure your bodyfat percentage and use that as your guide, NOT weight. It tells you what you need and want to know.

Thank you! At least you weren't trolling or rude

Thanks. I think you should tell us whether you have a large, medium, or small frame. You do this by measuring your wrist with a tape measure and doing some calculation based that number on your height. I don't know it but I'm sure you can find it by google. If you have a large frame then your goal is not possible without venturing into "Ethiopian starving child" territory. If you have a medium frame it can be done, but it'll be tricky. If small, it can be done with no adverse

A pic would be helpful to see what you look like in your current weight. No, I`m not a pervert. Just run everyday, stretch beforehand though. Run on the treadmill. Eat 5 fruit and veg a day. Eat 5 meals a day, NO snacks unless its fruit or veg. Don`t eat ANY junkfood such as choc/crisps/candy/sweets. Do sit ups, push ups. < Those are mostly for toning up though.

+1 yCardio weight training and eating healthy
25 Reply- +1 y
Thanks for the obvious?I meant specifics. I adjusted my workout and have actually began incorporating strength training and I do eat healthy, I eat less than 1200 calories a day and I made a choice a few years ago to give up cokes
- +1 y
Specifics. ... you need to eat enough for your bmr and eating under 1200 is too low unless a person is a little kid or midget...u need green veggies like broccoli...lean red meats white meat without skin and bones... and the cardio weight resistance mix... keep in mind two things the closer you get to ue bodies ideal weight the harder it will be and the more you exercise the more you do need to eat. Doing the opposite creates opposite effect
- +1 y
Well, I don't want to gain weight and need to reach 100/95 lbs and eating more than 1200 calories won't exactly get me there, but yeah, I eat a spinach salad before dinner each night
- +1 y
Eating less food than your bmr+energy burned will make you lose weight in an unhealthy way cause your body is going into starvation mode...

whatever
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yWhat's your body fat percentage?
113 Reply- +1 y
Um, I don't know, how do I calculate or find out? Why?
Opinion Owner+1 yIt makes a big difference. What matters ISN'T your overall weight, but your body composition. If you have a high fat percentage, then that will make it easier to meet the goal of looking hot and feeling good through mostly weight loss. If you already have a low body fat, then the only way to lose weight is by losing muscle, which will make you feel worse and look worse.

No I definitely want to lose muscle!I've had muscular thighs and legs my whole life and I don't understand why. My arms were muscular but are slowly turning into fat since I dropped out of colorguard and no longer do marching band, but my legs have always been muscular which sucks because I want thin legs and thighs, so muscle loss is good for me!
Opinion Owner+1 yYeesh! Muscle loss is unhealthy and bad for you and WILL make you look worse as an added bonus. A pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat, so if you drop fat and add muscle you'll look thinner. And the more muscle you have the more fat you burn. AND women tend to accumulate FAT on their LEGS so that's what's likely the problem.
- +1 y
But I don't have any fat, like literally, I have no jiggle
Opinion Owner+1 yPeople usually underestimate their body fat percentage by a fair bit. If you don't have very visibly distinct ab muscles then your body fat isn't extremely low. (Not that that's your goal.) So you can probably reduce your fat content some. What's your cup size as fat also goes to the breasts in women. I recommend increasing the amount of protein in your diet and reducing the excess sugar. Also do a mix of weights and cardio--not just cardio.
- +1 y
Well I want to get rid of the muscle and not have muscular legs, I just want thin thighs and legs
Opinion Owner+1 yOkay. Measure, measure, measure! If you measure from your hip bone to the outside of your knee and then go to the halfway point, measure around your leg. Do this for each leg. Then you can at least measure your progress to see how you're doing. Even if your weight doesn't move too much you may still reduce this measurement as you work out.
- +1 y
toned muscles are good to have, why would you want to lose them?
- +1 y
Because?...
- +1 y
because why. your basically proving him and I are right
- +1 y
You and who right?

You sure were a help*sarcasm*
Opinion Owner+1 yYou're aiming for a low weight so it's only safe to ask your doctor about it. He/she will know the best way to go about it(if you should be doing this) or direct you to someone who does. We don't know much about you except height and weight, I'm not going to risk giving you advice that would hurt you rather than help.
