Sure. Have you ever tried to get onions in a Chick-fil-A? That's a LOT of drama.
I like their (expensive) food, but even after a promise from a Regional Manager that he'd check into it, and even after I insulted CFA on Facebook, still no answer and still no onions! but I digress - - - - -
While this an (arguably) humorous example of "shopping drama", I AM aware of real PTSD, etc. - my wife is a Counselor and deals with an increasing proportion of clients with such issues. The COVID jazz is leading to unbridled outbursts from otherwise "calm" people, people who wouldn't have hurt a fly before January 2020. She's getting more and more clients with money problems due to small business shutdowns, more and more married couples are having deeper and deeper interpersonal problems, etc.
Now, these problems as presented may not be specifically correct DSM-5/ICD-10 codes, per se, (who can keep up with them anyway?) but we ARE seeing more and more people who are having more and more problems, shorter and shorter tempers, and more violent outbursts than ever before. Whether you can call them PTSD or not (for legal/medical accuracy) or just file them under "problems", they ARE real, they ARE happening, and the numbers ARE increasing.
In Chicago and other densely populated cities, the day hardly goes by that someone doesn't get shot on the expressway or stabbed for taking "the last" parking space. Hopefully, we will not worsen into beating up servers for forgetting that extra ketchup packet or onions during the lunch crunch at the local restaurant!
Everyone - take a nice, deep breath - and relax!

It could, depending on how dramatic and impactful the situation...

Yes, in my opinion anything can cause PTSD. Some may be more prone to it.
I had a traumatic experience working at a restaurant. A coworker injured himself in front of me, screamed and bled out every where. To this day whenever I see commercial kitchen tools or remember that coworker, I get anxiety and I feel stressed out.
Depends on what happened. Most restaurant working environments are uncomfortable and even toxic, but I’d say it’s extreme to claim ptsd over common restaurant work related situations. Maybe if you were assaulted, abused, harassed, regularly humiliated, etc.

I think that calling it just stress, is more accurate.
But I see it that way due to the fact that there's been relatives in my family that have lost their sanity after coming back from war zones.
I just don't see how the actual terror of the most unhuman behaviour compares to the horrible days that a few Karens might bring.
But I could be wrong, maybe some people have a very low tolerance or don't have the tools to deal with higher stress situations and then it could actually be life changing for them. she's being dramatic. it might be a bad experience what she had but i highly doubt it would cause her ptsd. if it did then she's an extremely sensitive person.
It greatly depends on what you consider to PTSD.
I suffer from it, and there are people from all sorts of occupation suffer from it.
forvexample bring in a job where you are bullied and victimised can result in PTSD.Yes, an uncomfortable working environment can cause and lead to PTSD
I feel like you can develop traumatic memory patterns and they effect the way you function in your next job... but I wouldn’t go as far as to call the PTSD there’s a lot of symptoms missing
It would take a lot of emotional abuse in that setting to get it, and ordinary drama doesn't rise to that level.
Yeah working in a restaurant is easily comparable to killing a bunch of people and watching your friends get blown to pieces.
Many people tend to over exaggerate things. What would these people do if the ever experienced a real traumatic experience.
Not unless it was in a bad neighborhood and it got robbed a lot.
Anything is possible ✌️
She was exaggerating.
She's talking as if she went to war.
