+1 yNo, absolutely not! Salt is a necessary electrolyte, which is at least partly required for all electro-conductivity w/in your body. Aiding in, amongst other things, the signal from your SA node to your AV node that tells your heard to beat! So no 100% no salt is a death sentence look at just 12 salts and what they relate to w/in the body

Sugar yeah, but your body needs salt to replenish electrolytes. Don't skip out on it. Heck, there's current research that has disproven the link between high sodium and high blood pressure, even.
Sugar is bad for you, but the body needs salt.10 Reply
512 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. No. We quite literally need salt to live. There is a reason why even on a diet like Ketone diet were you don't eat at all you still need to drink water with stuff and have salt.

+1 yIt IS one way to keep fit, but I don't know how reasonable it is to eliminate a condiment that seasons your food in moderation. Salt, I mean.
Limiting sugar is always a good idea. Saves your teeth and your waistline, but again, can you do this forever? Occasional treats stop people from overindulging.
You're talking about a pretty narrow road to tread for a lifetime. One can be fit and use both.10 Reply
+1 yIf you mean added salt and sugar (processed) then I agree 100%.
Lots of added sugar also causes ugly skin in many people. And this added salt and sugar causes inflammation and quick weight gain. There is what is known as "good and bad fat" that forms... tummy fat is usually the unhealthy kind.10 Reply
+1 yYour body needs SOME salt to survive. It's in our chemical makeup.
Added sugars are what I'm assuming your talking about here, as fruits & veggies have natural sugars in them.
The best way to keep a healthy body is to workout & eat right by you! Someone who works out & is active needs more calories than someone who plays video games & doesn't work out. Your metabolism also plays a big roll as well.00 Reply
+1 ycutting out items with added or artificial sugar and salt can be a benefit to a persons health. but many things have natural sugar and salt in them which can help control your bodies levels for them.

+1 yYou will die if you have no sugar or salt but if you don’t eat sugar, your body will convert body fat into sugar, so it’s almost impossible to have no sugar in your diet
00 Reply 1K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. No sugar and little Carb intake will increase your fat usage and you’ll drop weight like fool with some HIIT thrown in

+1 yYou don't need sugar but you body requires some salt.
10 ReplyYou know how hard that is? One or both is literally in EVERYTHING! So not "no", but watch and limit for sure! As well as fat content.

+1 yWould probably help. Went low sugar a few years ago went from size large to size small in like 6 months.
10 Reply Yes. Salt will kill you, and sugar isn't good either in quantities that are excessive.

I don't buy lunch, prepare all food for myself so can't sympathize.
If you didn't know you can make this experiment. Our human bodies need quite an amount of sodium, and most of it is naturally supplied in our food, so sprinkling salt doesn't change much. But what's interesting is that we crave salt when we don't have enough, and are grossed when we have enough. Try drinking a gallon of water (not literally, just to dilute the sodium present in your body) then lick some salt... it will taste amazing. Next time your food is oversalted just drink something... if you don't drink anything for a day... even licking a carrot may taste too salty...
+1 yWe love with out raw sugar or fermented one but can't live without salt cuz it is necessary for body and used in many type of thing like electrolyte maintain body fluids.

@LovingLoverReturned OK, thanks.
+1 yI don’t believe there is a best way, because different people have different bodies that process things differently
00 Reply4.8K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I think that everyone needs to cut down on both but you cannot eliminate it completely.
00 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Outside of eating fruit you should pretty much avoid sugar. Salt isn't bad for you. Sodium aka salt is an essential electrolyte.
00 Reply734 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. You need a little of both but cutting most of it out is good.

Ok; cool.
Best to avoid processed sugars definitely but no need to get rid of salt unless excessive
00 Reply871 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Ehh, I guess. Sugar has benefits actually. Not in the amount we’re currently eating.
00 Reply1K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I think that is a recipe for disaster. Your body needs sugar and you brain needs salt.
