Do you like to work out in the morning or afternoon/evening? Personally, I am an afternoon evening workout. I have tons of energy in the morning but find myself rushing around too much. So, I do a workout in the afternoon evening. Mostly yoga. How about you?
405 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I try, whenever possible to do my exercises in the morning, just after getting out of bed and before my morning shower and breakfast. My routine takes between 30 and 45 minutes.
Even though I am not so much of an early bird, I force myself to wake up around 6:00-6:30AM so I can be ready by 07:30 for my breakfast.
Now, depending on my schedule, I do take time in the afternoon for my traditional bike ride along the river. There is one dedicated spot by the river where I like to stop to do additional physical exercises, weather permitting of course. I would do those about twice a week in the late afternoon and depending also on my workload.
After the bike ride and workout, I am usually too tired to much more than my house chores in the evening.

Well, I’m off to bed. Have a nice evening and enjoy that morning workout tomorrow!
- +1 y
Well, here goes another morning without a workout. 😞
I applaud you for being so structured. Sorry you don’t get to ride your bike as much. I do know how much you enjoy that.
However, I am happy that you extended your internship. You must have made quite the impression, no doubt. That is absolutely amazing and wonderful. So very happy for you! 🙂 - +1 y
You are welcome and I hope the weather holds up for a nice bike ride this weekend. That is wonderful news you were able to extend your internship. I'm happy that it has worked out so well. 🙂

+1 yMorning! I'm actually on my way to go run now :)
I have more energy and motivation in the mornings compared to the afternoon or evenings. That and it's a great way to start the day and boost your metabolism!
After work, I have NO energy and just want to eat, relax, and go to bed. So for me, working out in the morning is easier compared to in the afternoons.

+1 yScience has proven evening workouts will get you better gains. Makes sense because if you tear yourself up and then have to work all day... ouch. Tear yourself up and get sleep instead of walking around like a zombie and...
Still though getting it in if that's all life is giving you a chance at is better than nothing. I personally like the morning thing so I can just get it out of the way, but I have noticed I feel depleated for morning workout routines. Basically starving for hours before a workout with a short mean or getting a meal and snacks all damn day and then doing it... yeah, you'll be more jazzed, unless you starve yourself all day at some day job where you can't even find time to eat or it runs you dry by wearing you out like standing all day long doing manual labor.
Just get it in, but if you have a choice... go for the night time workout. The fuckers addicted to caffeine pre-workout junk are a lot like the fuckers addicted to the coffee at a office. They're not even fucking awake yet and trying to hop right into some bullshit. That drug might get them a little awake, but they will probably crash at some point once a week at the very least and if you use that junk at night, you're fucking with your sleep.

u +1 ywell, since it is sports what I do I count that as my workout...
and because of availability and climate reasons, I prefer to do it at evening/nights because summers are crazy around here, and as the year goes by and winter starts to show up... we just take it back to some earlier hours but still in the evening is preferable because of habit and that's also what works best from others as well (all team sports for me, never alone or by myself)
my mornings are very busy anyway and when I do must of my work as well and afternoons I just get busy with other life stuff. lol10 Reply
+1 yAnytime that feels best to you, but for me I believe it to be after having a good rest, so anytime of the day is OK but please don't workout when you don't feel good or feel active for that day.
Also you could do super quick workout they are more like warmups but they are still workouts, this you can do during work hours, or anywhere, even playing games.
For example just rise your leg a little from the ground then lock your knee and swing the leg down from the knee, slowly not fast, sometimes you could do a suspense to just work out the muscles.
Then you can do shoulder workouts
Fingers, back, everything is pretty doable I just don't teach how to, but i hope you did get it.

+1 yI don't have time, working 14-hour days, I get up throw my clothes on and I'm out the door. Yes I understand I could get up earlier but with only having 10 hours off, within that 10 hours I have to commute to and from work, shit shower shave eat sleep etc. I really don't have much down time
20 ReplyVery late at night. My gym is open 24 hours. I usually begin at 11pm and finish up around 1-2am. I enjoy this because I worked nights for 19 years and can’t break the cycle of being up all night. And I practically have the entire place to myself and can select what they put on the big television.

+1 yI enjoy working out in the morning. It’s a great way to launch into a morning routine and it really helps set me up for success for the rest of the day. It primes my mind to have a hardworking productive day.
I like to alternate between lifting weights and going for morning runs. 🤙10 Reply
+1 yI actually just finished. 🏋️♂️
I am sooooooo not a morning person, but it's the only time I can squeeze it in, so I don't have much of a choice.

Let me guess your workout routine... you swing large hammers around?
- +1 y
I was going to say "swinging my large hammer is more of a private activity" joke, but I won't do that. 😂
Oops, too late, lol - +1 y
Hahahaha 😂😂😂
+1 yMornings all the way.
I live in the desert so if you run in the afternoon and wear anything more than shoes, a sports bra and booty shorts, you'll overheat and when you run around wearing that you get SOOOOOOOO much harassment.
In the morning there's fewer people out and about and it's so cold that if you don't wear a beanie hat, sweater and leggings, you'll freeze.

u +1 yIt depends on my schedule, but usually in the afternoons and evenings. Plus I usually work in physically active blue collar jobs, so it just makes more sense for me to work out in the evenings. Only have to shower once.

+1 yEver since I was 17, I wake up every morning and do 500 push ups, 500 sit ups and 500 chin ups. I started doing this bc I hated my baby face, and figured if I tone my body, females would look elsewhere besides my face. I have missed 8 days since I started, all due to torn muscles.

+1 yI like to workout in the evening because the testosterone to cortisol rate is very high. Which means you'll be able to perform much better
But anyone has their own preferences 😊 and that's fine
10 ReplyLol I know this is not a yes or no question, but for me the answer is no.

I’ve always been that way. Can’t seem to find enough time in the mornings.

+1 ytypically I either ride my bicycle, walk or jog to and from work daily round trip is roughly 5 miles or so. plus I'm on my feet a lot at work so think I generally get about 12k+ steps in daily.
10 ReplyUsually try for the morning. Get me protein/coffee then get my body revvin' for some workout time
10 ReplyMornings usually. If I don’t set aside the time to do it before I start work things often get too busy and I can’t get to it.
10 ReplyI do not now, but back then when I was active...
Mornings work best. I feel like I have energy for the rest of the day. I usually go to the gym before work.

- +1 y
I'm good thanks! How have you been? 🙂
- +1 y
I'm not bad , just so hot it's been humid in England the past week or so :(
- +1 y
I have heard about your heat wave. Those are temps I am familiar with but understandably tough when you are not used to it.
- +1 y
I'm deffo not used to it , just sitting down i sweat my balls off 😂
- +1 y
Is that what happens? You sweat them off? 😕😂
- +1 y
It's a figure of speech 😂😂 like the female equivalent of sweating my tits off 😂
- +1 y
I would love to sweat some (not all) of those off.
- +1 y
I'll change the subject lol , what workouts do you do priya?
- +1 y
I would say 90% is going to be running and yoga. I love to swim but that is a hassle to get to a pool. My parents have one but it is more a pool you get in to cool off and not so much swim around. Kinda small.
- +1 y
Wow cool ;) do you eat healthy?
- +1 y
Yes, I eat very healthy. Mostly lean proteins and lots of veggies. My one guilty pleasure would be Italian food.
- +1 y
