I was originally on the depo injection but switched to the implant 4 years ago I decided to have a break from birth control it's been a month since I got it out but it had already expired for 2 months prior to that and still no period. I'm concerned that my period won't return. I was on the depo for 15 years before switching to the implanon. I've only had about 4 periods since the age of 12 and I'm now 27 I'm worried that I was put on birth control to early and it hasn't allowed my body to regulate a normal cycle. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries a few years ago and it has me concerned that due to being on the depo injection it's caused polycystic ovaries as no one else has it in my family and there's not enough evidence of what side effects using depo long-term can do as it's only meant to be used short-term.
