Can something help me deal with tooth dimineralization/dentin hypersensitivity?

So, a few months ago, there were small white spots on some of my teeth. I didn't know what those were and Google only said it was dentin sensitivity or flurosis but again, I wasn't sure. The dentist I went to saw them and didn't say anything so I just kept brushing my teeth. I go back months later and now that there are more spots the dentist says it's dentin hypersensitivity/ dimineralization, i think they said that the enamel "shaved off and came back wrong"
And that there's nothing to do but wait for my insurance to pay for appointments for fillings for cavities (I think they said 2 years between appointments for 9 teeth).

I went to wal-mart to look and see if there's stuff there to help and I found this mouthwash that says it's supposed to help with what the dentist talked about. Is stuff life that actually gonna help or not? Or can I only eat/drink less to keep enamel from breaking more?
