The best way is to create a caloric deficit. The first step is to stop eating like shit. Your diet is waaaaaaaay more important in weight loss than exercise.

Anyone can save. Skip the Starbucks. Don’t eat out. Use coupons etc. But making more money? Put in more hours or ask for a raise.
Which is easier: to not eat ice cream... or to go run on a treadmill for 45 minutes? Because that’s a bowl of ice cream. Maybe.
Not that this is healthy but I have lost to date 14 pounds (6kg) in a week so far.. no drugs , no starving and no exercise- my body does not like stress. What ever you do just do it properly- something you maintain and are eating with healthy stuff in mind is best- ohh geezuz and please don’t forget the water it helps

I think the rule of thumb is something like not more than 2lbs a week, if you are going to be losing more than this then you should be doing so under the supervision of a doctor.
Just don't do anything stupid like starving yourself etc, you are beautiful just as you are and its not cool to upstage the bride ;)
Oh you can definitely lose that 40 pounds I'd you your really serious about diet and exercise... just cut the carbs portion out your meals get your cardio in daily and incorporate more fruits and veggies in your diet if you need any more help hit me up

However anything more than 3-4lbs per month isn't recommended especially for a girl as you might develop loose skin.
