I like going to gym everyday even if all my muscles hurt , I just go for cardio. I eat more than enough protein everyday. I became stronger in 3 months but no difference in body. Should I take rest days and how many rest days should I take in a week?
I don't know how hard your work out. When I trained and raced every day, 7 days a week it took a toll. I began to be tired all the time and muscle aches were bad... Had some blood work done and my Dr called me at home and asked me to come in to see her.
Seems she was 'alarmed' at the level of Lactic acid in my blood.... and told me that she never saw that in anyone but 'growing teens' or very highly conditioned athletes...
I needed to take some days off between hard work but did not have enough sense to do that and in the end it was a negative for me in training...You should consider that in your training

It all depends on the intensity. You can do more days less intense, or less days more intense.
How much of each you have to observe. More days is generally more interesting than more intensity.
You know you are over-training because the next day you can do noticeably less intense than the previous one.
I watched a Netflix video and a 40 year old medalist female athlete said the recovery period is more important than the work out cause you have to rest to grow from the work out.
I think 2-3 rest days a week are good cuz your body needs to repair muscle

Your body needs rest. Going to the gym with already sore muscles doesn’t benefit you, it actually hinders the process. When you build muscle tiny micro tears happen in the muscle and that is what makes you sore. Not allowing time for those tears to heal can cause more damage than good and actually hinder your gains. If you still insist on going everyday make sure you’re drinking a lot of water and I recommend getting on creatine. Hope this helps.
Trade off. I work upper twice and lower twice per week. I run and do abs six days. The two days I do not do either upper or lower I practice BJJ or Uechi-ryu. Sundays off. This has been my schedule for almost a decade. This works for me, but If I ever feel overly fatigued I will take a rest day irrespective of when it is. Find a schedule that allows you enough recovery time and then stick with it.
I think that recovery is very important i don’t know about how you currently look but i think Wednesday or Thursday should be your rest day if you really want to gain muscle mass and your a beginner. Only bodybuilders or pro level bodybuilders need train 6 days a week.
You can skid work different muscle groups
5 to 3 times per week.
one day
