Vicky was exercising at The Paradise Gym on Jalan Danau Tamblingan, Sanur Bali, on Saturday morning, 15 July 2023, where he attempted to squat press a weight in excess of 180 kg. Only supported by a single “spotter” standing behind, Vicky failed to complete the lift and fell forward, cascading the weight bar off his shoulders and snapping his neck and head forward.

There was no way he was going to be able to do that lift. It was a horrible accident and was nobody's fault.

I worked out at a gym that was a store front in a shopping center. They had a squat rack that was little more than two supports that held up the bar. There was this kid that wanted to squat with 4 plates on each side which was 405 lbs. He was too lazy to put the collars on the bar and just got under the bar and lifted it off the supports. He only wend down about halfway when the bar tilted and the plates on one side fell off. Then the bar rotated on it's own axis and saided through the big plate glass window. The kid got kicked out of the gym and we never saw him again.

his tbh should have used safety bard instead of a spot and when he tried to go up and couldn’t he should have told the spot to back up so he could bail out

What price vanity? You don't attempt things that you may not be able to do. For that weight he should have had another spotter. He paid the price for his vanity.
