Knees injuries can definitely be trouble for ballerinas. Ballet is super demanding on those joints.
The plies, releves, jumps - all that pointe work puts a ton of stress on the knees. If one's already feeling pain, it could definitely get aggravated trying to do advanced ballet moves.
I'd say maybe ease into it slow at first. Do some beginner barre exercises and simple center floor work to see how the knee handles it. Tell the teacher about the injury too so they can give modifications if needed.
But long term, it may be tough to pursue ballet seriously with knee issues. The form and technique requires a lot of stability and strength in those joints.
Maybe try it out gentle for a bit, and cross train with other styles like jazz or hip hop in the meantime that are less stressful. And definitely get that knee checked by a doc too if it keeps bugging you.
Better to be careful now than wind up with a long term injury, ya know? Ballet's dope but not worth risking your health over. Take it slow, listen to your body, and see how it goes is my advice!
