Should restaurants be required to keep the sound below a certain decibel level?

Ambient noise in excess of 70 decibels can cause damage to the human ear so should the "health inspection" also make sure that the ambient noise isn't harmful to the human ear.

I mean if they are going to go around shushing customers they will probably loose business. Unless they’re cranking music uo super loud. I’m sure they could tell their customers to be quieter. But. Don’t go out to eat at peak times. Try going when it’s not as busy

They can also install sound absorbing materials in their walls and use more carpets on the floor.

That is true. Bur carpets in restaurants can be hard to maintain. Sone have them. But they get dirty easily

Yes, I hate when I go out to eat and I can't even hear myself think. I usually request to turn the volume down.
