You should not think about diets so much. I am in the midst of losing a lot of weight -- I went to a nutrionist who was very reasonable. My plan involves walking 4 miles/day and eating good foods. The nutrionist gave me a plan where I am never hungry -- In fact, I eat 5 times a day at least.
In the morning I have a bowl of Cheerios with 1% milk and bluberries on top. I eat an apple around 10:30 or 11 am. I have a bowl of soup and veggies around 1 pm. I eat all kinds of vegetables during the afternoon. At night I eat a big salad with tuna or salmon in it -- use a very light dressing. I would say if I am careful about all of it, I am eating 1,500 calories per day. During my walk, I burn about 350 calories.
You have to be creative about eating -- I add garlic to my soup because it adds taste and garlic is an apettite supressant. I use light soy sauce on my steamed veggies. I ended up losing the 1st 10 lbs in less than 2 weeks. I have a ways to go but feel good about it so far. you can do the same easily.

You severely lack self control.
Want to know the simplest of diets? It's called the "eat less, drink water and run you fatty"-diet. You don't need a fancy plan to lose weight, you just need to burn more energy than you take in.
If you had a bit more self control than what you're saying you do then I would have suggested having a SCHEDULED treat day where you eat what you want say once a fortnight. However, if you do that you have to be VERY strict with your diet between the treat days.
i use a combination of positive and negative reinforcement.
iv'e set bahaviour goals too. like I work in child care and they serve lots of food during the days and there is lots of leftovers so I set the specific goal of not eating anyof that stuff. The positive was that if I kept to that goal then I would buy myself this really cute shirt I saw the oher day. The negative reinforcement wa s that I've been wearing an elastic band and I snap it when I think about eating the food or feel vulnerable and weak like I might give in.
Also I have an app on y phone that allows me to look up the kjs and etc. I find when I can see a numerical number that shows the difference the decision makes its easier tosay no to bad food.
calorie counting helps a lot, well at least I find...
see its not an extra chocolate bar at 520 calories...it's one and a half ham and cheese sandwiches?!
520 x 4 = 2800 calories ...three bars would equal your daily allowence...so on...
it makes you realize what food you can eat a lot of, and what you shouldnt
like look at it ...you could have half of the ham and cheese sandwich at around 150 cals...that means you've cut down by 400 cals and have filled yourself up with something, it will stop hunger pans.

Diets fail because they're impractical and meant to be temporary. You need to make small permanent lifestyle changes, which actually takes LESS effort, in my opinion. You don't need to obsessively count calories if you're eating healthy foods and being active.
My lifestyle:
several small healthy meals each day
lots of fiber
lots of water
no junk food or soda
an hour of physical activity each day
That being said, if you only "need" to lose 7 pounds, I doubt it's that urgent. -_- People focus way too much on the number on the scale instead of their actual health and how they FEEL.going on a diet can be very stressful and annoying. I say try eating healthy and small amount of foods. Don't starve yourself, eat 4-5 meals a day, they say 5-6 but that's if you're going hard with your diet and since you're eating healthy, reduce one meal. And make sure you go to gym or workout at your house everyday. Hope this helps
You just gotta want it...needing it will never work! Simply think I don't wanna be like this anymore! This is the moment of change or at least the first step as it were!
Don't try drastic diets either you'll put on more weight than you lose!
Don't starve yourself or make yourself throw-up...that's just STUPID!
Just get out more and eat less (and healthier) more often! And drink water!Your motivation has to come from within and it has to come from a desire to be healthier. Its not a diet, but a lifestyle change. If its that important to you, you will do it.
You need to find healthy foods and figure out healthy, convenient ways to prepare them.
Stop eating out.Just remind yourself of the reasons you want to lose weight. I also swear by yoga
When I lost around 50 pounds I used the results I was seeing as motivation.
