I've never had one nor do I know anyone who has but my ex boyfriend was one. He makes a lot of money doing what he loves to do (although I assume he might have a hard time supporting a family down the road with that income since its not a great amount). You usually work with only a few people because of the schedule. But if you really like helping people out and showing them that they can change their lives by changing their appearance/health then look into it.

You best bet is to apply at the gym. I've used personal trainers through the gym.
Unless you live in Hollywood or someplace equally image driven, you probably won't find a lot of success as an independant personal trainer. It's a luxury most people can't afford right now. One of my friends was considering getting a personal training and - no joke - went out and got a Wii Fit instead, and can't stop raving about it. I would say consider what other options you have, career wise.
I use a trainer at the gym, although I probably wouldn't if I didn't have special needs. I have a neurological disorder that means I'll never be able to achieve the sense of balance, coordination, or motor control that normal people have, so I can't do most generic structured workouts. I need something customized to me that takes my "special needs" into consideration.

Def do the gym first! Than you can build up some clintele from around the gym, get your name out there etc, be broad in who you train (people from those who want basic knowlegde, those who are older, speical needs, those who want to lose weight, bulk up etcetc.) You could also put on some additional exercise classes or lessons like tennis, basketball, soccer, a weights class etc etc to widen your potential!
I didn't actually hire one but you can request one at the gym at my college for free! I had this really great girl who taught me some new exercises and she was really nice. We ended up becoming friends for a little bit.. Anyway if you have the means for it (even though you look really fit to me) You could always look up exercises and try videos those are always helpful too :)
I know people that have had personal trainers. But I wouldn't pay for motivation, which is all I would get out of it. It would be different if I needed rehabilitation, but if it's just something like I'm trying to get a quicker first step, I can do that on my own
My boyfriend just hired a personal trainer 2 months ago tomake sure he was in the best possible shape to apply for the police academy. He loves having a trainer to keep him on track and honestly, he's in better shape than I ever thought he could be. It's been great for him.
If I had the money I might hire one, however I don't so my $10 a month gym membership will have to do. That much said I do know a few guys who are personal trainers, I've never asked but I assume most of their clients are older, they seem to enjoy it.
I am a pre-kinesiology major in college and I definitely want to get my personal training certificate. I know a lot of people who use personal trainers and I've been told that if I lived in the city I could make big bucks by what people pay trainers. If I could afford it I would love to have one myself but until then I do my own workouts.
No I wouldn't. If I had been in a serious accident I might got to physical therapy or occupational therapy but I would never hire a personal trainer just for workouts. I think some people feel they need someone to motivate them to keep going. Those people would be more likely to want a personal trainer. They need positive encouragement and like to do things as a team so to speak. =)
Me personally no, I don't think I need one. But if I ever felt I was uncontrollably putting on weight, or felt my actual level of fitness significantly going down as well as enough money and time to spare maybe I would.
I have a personal trainer, and I think it's quite helpful.
Being ex military I don't think so. To me it just feels weird. and it's a luxury.
Occupational therapy or physio therapy is different though, and even they cost a bomb.Yup, they are totally worth it the first couple of months. After that it is all repetition of the same sh*t and you won't need him anymore. You don't seem to need one though, lol.
Sure why not? Personal trainers are good to have when you want to get and stay fit. It's also easier to entrust a personal trainer to make dietary decisions and set up a good workout plan etc.
if I could afford one I totally would.. and I don't know anyone who has one where I live haha.
I have some friends that have personal trainers. I'm not sure if I would hire one, but I know a lot of people would.
If I had the money I would hire one for sure!
suree, if I needed one
If he was you I would! haha
Good for you!
