Guys: Would you be attracted to a girl who is 50 lbs overweight?

Let's say you're friends, she is pretty but chubby. You guys have an awesome connection and personality wise she is everything you are looking for but again, she is overweight.

If not and a few months from now she loses the weight, would you become interested or no?

I don't want any mean responses or people saying this girl shouldn't consider a guy who cares about it this much. I just want a straight up answer about what you would do in this scenario.

Anything more than 15lbs would be a serious turn-off for me. At 50 lbs, it would be a deal breaker. There would simply be no attraction there. That being said, if she lost the weight, I'd consider her when she is back in shape.

I wouldn't mind keeping her as a friend, perhaps more once she drops the weight. As long as I have reason to believe that she has made long-term choices to lead a more healthy lifestyle, she could be a dating option providing other parts of her personality match up with what I'm looking for in a girl.

A few extra pounds is OK, but 50lbs overweight is a lot. Even if we have a lot in common, an overweight girl is something I just can't get over because I find it completely unattractive. A women's body is her number one asset and being overweight ruins that.

I was actually with a girl once who from the outside seemed to be only slightly overweight (10-15lbs). But once her clothes came off...well, lets just say I think I underestimated. It was a huge turn off.

If she lost the weight and it looked as if she was going to keep it off then yes. I would consider dating her.

I personally prefer her to have a nice body over a pretty face. I know surveys have shown this to be the preference for the majority of guys where for women the face is more important. I just believe that a women's body is a unique and beautiful thing and is an important trait for me when determining if I want to date a girl. While most guys would probably agree with me still keep in mind that is only my preference.

I think you are right. I have a very pretty face and he's told me that. I also have big boobs and a big butt and when I am fit, my waist is small and my boobs and butt are not. He basically said "so then you're perfect" referring to when I am in shape. He would never tell me that tthis is why we are just friends but I have deduced this from many things and I know its why. I just wanted to see how many other guys would feel the same way

No studies have shown that for sex guys will go for body and for a relationship face is more important. Don't speak for the whole male population.

I saw a major study as well that surveyed men and women on what was more important to them in terms of attractiveness on the opposite gender, the face or the body. With men, body won by a landslide, & with women face one by a landslide. Not saying all people are like this, just the majority. It makes sense, since the female body has always been an object of beauty, where as the male body not so much. But I can see your point as it relates to a relationship as opposed to just general attraction.

People probably figure that they rather be in something long term (a relationship) with someone with a nice face because a body can be improved (diet, exercise, etc.). Either way, I was refering to the face value of the person and not taking into account the possibility for improvements.

I saw a study that surveyed men who said for sex men will choose body and for a relationship they will choose face. I can see that to an extent.

Thats a lot of weight to lose in a few months, and don't forget, excess skin will still be around after losing the weight, but if this guy is really into you, the weight won't matter anyway,x

I am only about 20-30lbs overweight now. We met when I was 50lbs overweight and now we are just friends..who cuddle and are way too touchy and flirty if you ask me but yeah. I am training for a half marathon and will be in good shape by mid April. He is a personal trainer so a girl being fit is super important to him.

well the weight was a result of a knee injury (not being able to work out) and living with a boyfriend (now exboyfriend) who ate like crap and never supported my weightloss because he sucked. Now that I am not with him, I want to get back to my original figure but I met a guy who is a personal trainer that I really like and he would never tell me this but I know he isn't attracted to me because of my weight but that's it. So I wouldn't gain it again for sure

Yes, if she's really cool. Losing weight should be her decision, and it just would be a plus for her health.
