I once was running with some friends for cross countrie, and 2 of the girls had to take their shirts off to only wear sports bras due to thorns. I was the last person, behind them both. I didn't want to pass them for fear of insulting them, so I stared at the ground for about a mile. at one point a girl looked behind to see if I was staring. I'm glad I was looking at the ground.

I've heard this before... We were talking and I said I go for runs at the beach early in the morning sometimes, and she said she would like to but she doesn't like going alone in the morning because you never know what could happen, someone could mug you or rape you. I was like what do you mean, it's just a run... She's like it's different... you are a man. =P
No. I don't care about other runners. While I'm running, or any other exercise for that matter, all I'm thinking about is how much I hate exercising and can't wait to stop. I'm usually counting down the minutes, wondering how many calories I've burned.. that sort of thing.
I totally don't care about guys while I'm running.
Usually my mp3 player is plugged to my ears...which loud rock/pop music..
So, I would be singing along with the lyrics in my head..

i've rarely encountered people on the trails I run on. but when I'm running with my sister (who prefers to run around the neighborhood), we do encounter a lot of other runners. in general, everyone's really focused on running. a few guys here and there will nod or smile which isn't 'threatening.'
I usually only run on the treadmill but in that kind of scenario, if the guy looked like an obvious runner (as in I could see him running from far away), I wouldn't be intimidated. However, if I were running and suddenly some dude decided to run towards me with a backup van...yikes! lol
LOL. I don't care...Never happens anyway. I get a smile or wave now & then but honestly you're in your own little world. Both men & women, I think. I run outside, though. Not @ a gym. Yet.
They've probably experienced sexual harassment or just want to avoid it in the first place. I don't think they're paranoid for it. It happens.
eh not really, when I run I am so focused on that and what I am doing that I don't have a second thought about what guys might be doing around me
I have no idea how one might simulate this, nevertheless: live the vulnerable, objectified life for a month or so and then get back to us :P
