First set a goal. You want to have abs? You'll have to work hard! Next make a training program, start of easy, and work yourself up. Do different things so you don't get bored. As for the diet. Eat Healthy and lots of proteins.
First of all, you don't do this type of things for someone else, you do it for yourself.
Your lack of motivation comes from the fact you don't really care about getting those abs.
