What pushes your motivation?

Bc of work and now I'm sick I couldn't find the time to workout and to start a healthy diet. But as soon as I am up again, I would like to start. I started diets hundred times, but broke up after a few days and never find the motivation to go regularly to the gym. At the beginning I'm always really motivated, but I can't keep up.

I am not planning to loose a lot of weight, I just want to get in shape, a defined stomach and a stable health ( I smoke and drink from time to time, so at least I should take care of nutrition and that I regularly work out)

Any good advices, tips? What is the reason you keep your stamina?
