Belly fat is one of the most widely misunderstood topics on the planet. Before I go any further, I highly recommend you check out bodybuilding.com/
We all actually have a pretty good six pack already and we use our six pack abdominals more often than we realize. The reason that we don't see them isn't because we're not doing enough crunches but rather in our eating habits and what we're are doing to burn the fat. How much fat you have on your stomach is a sign of how much fat you have in other places as well. There's no such thing as spot reducing.
If you visit the place above, you can choose a plan according to either building muscle mass or fat reduction, age and gender. There are videos in every plan and it's like having a personal trainer everyday. I recommend Lee Lambrada's 12 week plan. Lee will straighten you out about all the myths that are floating around out there. Myths like: It's genetic or I have a slow metabolism or I'm too old to have a great body. There are pictures of people on that site in their 70's. You be the judge! Lee will teach you some darn good recipe's and how to eat correctly. Best part is that it's FREE.
You won't be disappointed.

Losing weight does not just mean attending a gym, it means a balanced diet, it means burning more calories than you consume, it means toning up as well as just working out, it means strenghening your core muscles so the excess skin has a reason to shrink, and crunches WILL not, and I repeat, WILL NOT get rid of a flabby belly, so tell them to see a personal trainer, who can advise them on exactly what is involved in them losing the belly, because its not as plain and easy as you may think,x
there's been some research that says crunches make your gut bigger-maybe it's true, maybe not,but it could be the reason. and maybe they have abs-but have fat covering the abs,it could also depend on their diet, maybe they're bloated.
-It probably has to do with their diet.
-Also, tummy weight is the hardest to lose.

Because their diet is off or they're not working out right. Doing crunches alone will not get an amazing stomach. Its a mixed between core, cardio, plyometrics, and resistance training. You want to target a single muscle group each day but change it each day. Like abs one day, plyometrics the next day and so on. If you target the same muscle group everyday, your muscles will be come resistant to the workout and not tear and rebuild like they should. That is why people often find themselves in "ruts" as they so call it.
Well some of it just comes down to genetics, which have as much to do with how toned your stomach is as how much you work out. Crunches will strengthen abdominal muscles, but they aren't all that good at burning abdominal fat. Targeted weight loss is a fools errand. The key is to do a full body workout and burn as many calories as you can. Also, if these girls are not eating well it may be negating the workouts.
3 words: Bad Eating Habits.
Workouts build your muscle mass and tone (and appetite!) but proper portion control, timing and what you eat, accounts for 80% (even more with girls) of the weight loss.
These girls probably consume 2-3 fruity sweet drinks 2-3 nights a week, plus an odd tiramisu and / or steak once a week, plus deep into a bread basket on another outing - and that is completely enough to NUKE any hope of losing any weight even if you work out a LOT.sometimes is just about their body structure. no mater how much they exercise, their structure won't change.
Crunches make you bigger.
Having a gut is about fat storage, hormones and diet. They eat crappy food..
Definitely has to do with their diet
