I have had that issue before too! I never knew what it was. But the two guys who answered your question seem to have really good remedies!
I know I found if I took a warm bath or put a hot water bottle, or even ice on my calves after a workout it was helping!
You could try that. Also try to not overwork any muscles. You might have just been working your calves a lot and now they are cramping up. It happens but I know it can be quite uncomfortable. Even giving yourself a calve massage can help!

It depends on what you do to stretch it out. Also, you want to alternate what muscles you workout, because when you workout, the muscles tear. It takes a day or 2 to fill it in and grow the muscle. Therefore, if you work the same muscle out too frequently and consistently, it will get painful.

do some calf raises and a slow walk on a 2% incline, this should help any cramps the muscle is having, also after exercising, put an ice pack round your calf for about 10 minutes, this also should stop the pains during exercise, if it continues, speak to a gp, good luck,x
