200lbs :( so fat
I want to get pregnant the Dr. said I need to lose a few lbs.
You need to eat no more than 1200 calories per day for 1.5...2 years to lose 40 lbs.
1200 calories is relatively little (foods like lean turkey, canned tuna in WATER, and 2% cottage cheese help a lot, though, as they are filling with few calories and lots of protein)
Eating right will make you lethargic in the beginning but you MUST push through that and keep exercising. Strength and cardio. If your heart rate is not above 80% of your absolute max heart rate, means you are wasting your time not exercising. It has to be HARD to make a difference.
Your body will struggle against your intentions to maintain your present weight. Like you'll get monster appetite maybe an hour after workouts, and be tempted to eat back in all the calories you've just worked so hard to burn. You need to learn to eat just enough and not a bite more. Your body will play evil mind tricks on you, like you break just one square off a chocolate bar to reward you after a perfect week of fitness, next thing you know the whole bar is gone.
You need to look at your friends - are they also fat? If you do what fat people do, eat where fat people eat, you will be fighting a very uphill battle. Be more around fitness minded people as opposed to those that can derail your fitness gains.
Stay away from girlie summer drinks as those have TONS of calories. Alcohol in general does. If you must drink, make it red wine, or DRY white wine, or Guinness (which is surprisingly low carbs).
Good luck
I would definitely recommend taking a good hard look at your eating habits / diet. Also, start working out regularly and it would 100% be a good idea to look into taking some supplements. Look for supplements with clinical studies, patents and are GMP Certified.
Also, check out this site BodyRock (Google it), they have a lot of great work outs as well as meal / healthy eating suggestions.
I agree about education. But also everyone is used to huge portions and carbs Carbs CARBS - does not take a lot of education to appreciate that it is harmful. People should just stop stuffing themselves and if they can only afford McDonalds they offer healthier fare as well - nobody HAS to order LARGE fries with ElephantSizedSodaCup and FINISH them.
if you're that much overweight its not because of birth control and ADD meds. Starting birth control makes some women gain at most 10 or 12 pounds. AT MOST. A lot of women don't gain weight at all. And I've never heard of gaining weight after going off of them. And what ADD meds are you on? A side effect of most of those drugs is weight loss...
So if you want to lose weight, stop blaming it on other things, quit eating so much, quit eating so much junk food, and exercise. Its not really that complicated.
Wow wtf is your problem FYI everyone's body is different so unless you know the whole story behind why this girl is overweight shut your damn mouth and stop being a rude ass bitch just sayin
you don't gain weight from stopping birth control. And since ADD meds can make you lose weight, you were probably eating way too much and continued that after you went off the meds. But that doesn't mean it was because of the meds and you have to lose weight in some special way. Do it like everyone else does
burn more calories than you consume. I would recommend eating what your body needs for metabolic purposes (it depends how much that is but I'm guessing around 1500 for you) and then exercise on top of that. run outside or on a treadmill or do whatever. you'll lose weight
Diet and exercise, plan and simple. Trust me, all the quick and easy ways aren't worth it in the end. If you want to lose 40 pounds and keep it off then do it the right way. I highly suggest cardio. Try to push yourself and workout for 5 days a week at least (you need a day of rest). If you aren't sweating and pushing yourself then you're just wasting your time. Insanity is a great workout if you can get your hands on it (its expensive).
Cut out sugars and stick to water and unsweetened tea.

I went through the same thing. I suffer from OCD where medication use had me jump from 173 [lb] to 255 [lb] with no signs of improvement over my disorder and only side effects of serotonin syndrome and extrapyramidal symptoms that almost cost me my life. Recently, I've lost it all and further making adjustments to keep it off. I'm 6 [ft] tall.
Weight loss is much like a game. There is no one set criteria that works for everyone. For me, changing my diet to a high protein and high fruit/vegetable has made a radical difference while consuming less then 2000 [cal] daily. Drinking tea/coffee for caffeine and MAO-A/B intake worked quite well for me too. Fish oils and multivitamins also helped my OCD. Likewise, making myself sick off of fast foods was a psychological means of deterring further consumption. Exercise routines of 50-100 times up and down the stairs, daily, will have the pounds fall off. Weights and exercises focusing on key muscular areas (core - back, arms, and thighs) also improved my weight loss.
MOST will consider the above unhealthy (based on the responses I got from my peers), but I've never felt as good in my life. Furthermore, this self medicated method has done wonders for my OCD, regardless if it is still in the state of severity. But for now on, I'll be taking CBT as a means of countering mental disorder as opposed to non-practical medication means that, simply, don't work for long term use.
Wait, you're losing weight just so you can get pregnant?
What the Fffff...
Well, your best bet is sprinting and distance running.
F*ck Walking. NO one ever got in shape that way.
Wanna look fast? You gotta be fast.
Got a dog?
Outrun it.
Can't?
That's why you're fat. Get faster.
Got a floor?
Do Calisthenics on it, like pushups, lunges, and free weight training.
Got a local park? Cool.
Use the horizontal bars to do hanging sit ups.
No one ever got a flat stomach from doing crunches on the floor.
Good luck.
I don't think you'll kill yourself doing any of this. You'll be fine, deary.
+1
I've heard a lot of good reviews on the Insaity Workout!

I would suggest diet and exercise.
Diet = 1200 cals/day consisting of lean protein (chicken, fish) and fruits and veggies.
Exercise = walking everyday and get yourself up to a few miles/day.
No cheating.
Eat less food and eat healthier food.
Do your research, it's worth it.
Make sure you go out for a walk for at least an hour a day. Jog for 45 minutes at least 3 days a week.
How simple is that? You will lose weight.
I lost 50lbs, I made a diet plan for myself and can send it to you somehow if you want. Garanteed to work. I was once 200lbs at 5'8 and am now 150
cool, it would be great if you could just send me a message with: how did you end up gaining weight?is it through emotional eating?boredom? if you binge what do you binge on? right now what do you eat everyday? etc... just so I can tweak it a bit to get you the best results.
Stop eating! that works...it worked for me a long time ago! I'd lose 60 pounds! ;)
do you have an exercise/training program? we start there. diet is tough by itself.
space is short here. a variety is best. running is the simplest but if you are not a runner yet it is hard to run long enough or at a low enough heart rate to really be effective as the basis for aerobics. cycling is excellent but you need to use and HRM and know where yo want to be. will be out of space.
I don't no if they have this were you are but look into it it's called visalus my friend lost 197 lbs on it in 7 months good luck
