Good Morning! Early days or Late day shifts at work.

Today I am starting the first day of a new shift, must leave the house at 6 AM to be there on time.

I am not sure if I am going to like this schedule or not.

What is your opinion about a schedule that works best for you and why does it work best?

I've worked shifts from 4pm to 2am before and I've worked from 6am to 3pm

The late night shift was good after school. And I'm a night person do it was easy to do it. Although I would always miss parties and other activities.

Morning shift is muuuuuuuuch slower, waking up early sucks. I do get the rest of the afternoon off but by 9pm I want to sleep. So I really don't party much. If there's really something I want to do I'll have a second red bull a cold shower and I can stay up til 2am. Of course if I work the next day I regret it in the morning :/

Hmm well I normally hate early days becauae well,I like my sleep.

however at mt job,there isn't a lot to do when I get there so I just grab some coffee,a danish and sit down and watch the news. Kinda nice.

If you commute by car: at 6 am there are no traffic jams If you do long days you'll stop at 7pm : no traffic jams either. I know it: most of the time it's 7am-7pm

I have an early shift (7-4). I like t because I miss a lot of traffic, and get home with plenty of afternoon to do things.

So far you are upholding my theory that odd shifts = ability to avoid stuff (positive)

I work graveyard (10PM-6AM) and it's cool. I finish my work by 3 and crash out until it's time to go home. The great thing about my shift is all the bosses only work days and swing so I'm left alone.

Yes I think this is one of the better aspects of a late or early shift is being able to do avoidance maneuvers

I've done that in the army when I was officer on guard duty but there was no way of sleeping late there of course. That made for very short nights and 1/2 a day zombie life. No problem since there was no work to do in the army. No customers waiting :D. Just a bunch of lazy superiors who want to see you, not hear you.
