How do I tell her I'm getting braces without her getting mad?

So I really need braces, but my mom says that I don't need them, but I do. I found the perfect othrodonics where I know I can afford the monthly payments, so how do I tell my mom that I'm getting braces without her getting as crazy about it

When your mom says you dont need them, is this because the financial burden is too great? I had braces and let me tell you they are NOT cheap. Even with payment plans. If you are paying for them though then whats the harm?

Before braces i was so embarrassed to smile, my teeth were horribly crooked. Id tell her that " mom my teeth make me feel very insecure, i dont like to show them. If i can afford to pay for them would you be willing to let me get them for myself?" explain why you feel you need braces in a very calm and objective way. Show her that you HAVE the money set aside, show her the ortho you found with proof of the possible payment plan, give her any information you think she may need to realize that this is a good decision.
