Do you like to let the public know how you celebrate Christmas on social media?

I mean even strangers? So you post phtoos here and there of your family or friends celebrations or do you think Christmas is a intimate personal lives and noone has to know how you celebrate yours, you keep taht only among family members by exchanging photos among yourself but not on social media.

It is like a trend I had witness, friends posting photos of their friends celebrations eitehr at a house restaurant, so public know you do have friends to hang out with. Or family celebrations at any place ( house, restaurant, etc )

I had seen on social media lets say people I know posting photos of their tables, food, how the house is decorated, or people alrady sitting on the tables eating dinner and then they post that on social media, with messages giving thanks to God for celebrating the time, but then when you see those photos, you can see the celebrations are fancy, people living in a nice house, with nice stuff, no simple at all.

Why people you dont even know or a distant friend has to know how you celebrate Christmas?

We have a friend who is a missionary. She has spent the last two months cutting through governmental red tape, just to help people. The government's seem to want to thwart her efforts at every turn, but God works His miracles and lets her succeed, no matter the problems. SHE knows how to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
18 years ago this month, I went on a mission trip myself to Greece. One of the tasks we did was to sort and prepare hundreds of pieces of clothing to be given away to visitors to our Athens mission. Imagine my surprise when I saw little women scooping up armloads of XXXL men's shirts. We had plenty of shirts to give everyone several- that wasn't the strange part. I asked our leader about it: "The ladies will take the shirts and sell them in the Plaka (a neighborhood in Athens) to get money to buy food, much more than we can give them at the mission." Our work freed up the real workers at the mission who prepared paperwork and transportation plans for homeless refugees to make legal citizenship changes to countries other than their Middle East, oil-rich countries. In those countries, it was only the oil sheiks who had the money to "see the celebrations are fancy, people living in a nice house, with nice stuff, no simple at all." The refugees we helped merely got in the way of the rich.

I like to keep my Christmas celebrations to my family and friends. I've been trying to keep limits on how much social media I check out on a daily basis.

It's great to connect but I think there's kind of too much bad comparisons in my mind between my life and everyone else's. It gets overwhelming.

I was in Qatar and made it known that I was a Christmas celebrant. It did take the whole fly crew to walk me out and through the airport to a car. And I didn’t even have my big bulb necklace, wrapped around my wool p-coat, flashing or anything.
Some people are no fun at all 🤷🏻‍♂️.

There are some people who literally share every single detail of their lives on social media. I’m a much more private person. I hardly ever use social media anymore.

Not especially. I usually do something for charity every Christmas or New Year, like shaving my head, dying my hair, or this year run a mile for GOAL. I usually raise a couple of hundred because family and friends know I prefer that over cards or presents.

So on social media, I'd remind friends and family what I'm doing, but generic members of the public? Nah, can't be bothered. I just want to help people, not get praise for it.

That is exactly how I feel about this but some poeple believe Im biter because they can do it and Im not and I have things against their happiness. It is not that it is like you said it makes people who do spend holidays alone feel bad.
