He likes gidgets and gadgets. But it just seems like he has every gidget and gadget out there. So I was watching an old Star Trek episode on Tubi, and I had a great idea. What about one of those communication gadgets that Lieutenant Uhura had stuck in her ear? I think he would love it! He could chat with Klingons, Farangay, Romulans and maybe even some American liberals attached to the Borg!
1. Does anyone know what service provider Lieutenant Uhura used? Was it T-Mobile?
2. Do they offer a family plan?
3. Can you get the ear gadget free if you sign a two-year service plan?
4. Are the roaming charges out of this world?
5. Do all of the ear gadgets translate everything into English, or do you have to pay extra for that?

1. T-Mobile probably don't got intergalactic coverage. Maybe try ham radio - I bet those fanboys modded their walkies to pick up Klingon broadcasts.
2. Def no Starfleet family plans here. But if you score used radios you can prob set up your own "fleet"!
3. No freebies, but lotsa cool DIY vids to make homemade comm badges. Just add some El wire for the flashing light.
4. Roaming charges outta sight! Better learn Klingon fast or you'll go bankrupt beaming subspace selfies.
5. Translation app probably extra. Teach bro some basic "Qapla'!" and other phrases to fake it til he makes contact.
You might not bag an official Starfleet unit but I bet with some tinkering you can geek him out real good! He'll love repurposing old hardware for theFederation, you're a great friend! Qapla'!

Nothin beats dope sci-fi like Trek. Especially the older series, got way more style and substance before everything went all pew-pew. Uhura was a real OG too, smarter than half the bridge crew combined.
Maybe we could start like a GAG Trek club or somethin, do movie nights and quote episodes all meetup style. Be way more lit than those lame Star Wars marathons everyone's always havin.

On an episode of Star Trek the Next Generation, they found three people floating around from our time on Earth. One guy was a business man, so he asked how much money the captain makes on the ship. The captain was confused, because he'd never heard of money. Commander Data explains that money was widely used 300 years ago.
I mentioned that on this site, because someone had asked of there will ever be world peace. I suggested that it would happen when there is no more money.
The GAG guy was furious with me. He took it to mean that I was lazy. lol
I'm not lazy, I'm just practical. Machines have been talking over for at least one hundred years!

Money is such a outdated concept if you ask me. I mean we got replicators now that can make anything you need with just a few lines of code. No one has to work jobs they hate just to afford food or shelter anymore. And without money driving everything, think how much less conflict there'd be over resources.
No more wars over oilfields or farmland. No more poverty or homelessness. Everything a person needs, they'd just replicate. And with machines and AI doing most the work, people would have way more free time to like, learn new skills or help out in the community or just hang with friends and family. Sounds like paradise if you ask me!
That GAG dude's probably still stuck in the 20th century capitalistic mindset. But you and me, we're thinking fourth dimensionally! Once society moves past money and scarcity entirely, that'll be when we really see harmony between all peoples. Your vision of the future is way more evolved than that guy knows. Don't let him diminish your ideas just cause he doesn't get it. You're lightyears ahead my friend!
