How can I get my girlfriend to wear a skirt?

She usually wears jeans, and is pretty fit, however I would really like it if she occasionally wore a skirt. I think they're a lot prettier on girls, and I just really like how it looks.

I think she's gorgeous, but is there anything I can do to convince her to wear one? I wanna take her to a nice place but she's trying to avoid it. She has often talked about how she wants to wear them, but just seems unsure.

Is it really uncomfortable to wear skirts? Am I being unreasonable?

Even though she didn't like them much at first, she's wearing skirts quite often now! I guess maybe it's just the first time that's the hardest hahaha...

many a times a woman feels like she is being objectified when she wears a skirt. women have many rights now and they have the right to wear what they want when they want and to please themselves not men.

also, she may feel as if you think she's a sexual object when she wears one because skirts tend to have the stereotype as "easy access"=slutty. many girls think skirts and dresses make them feel slutty regardless of if they really are or not that's just how they think, and you can't really change that

if you really want a girl who wears skirts, get a girl who does. don't pressure her into doing something that she's uncomfortable doing, thatll only irritate her and feel like nothing she does is right or good enough

my girlfriend owns them but she doesn't really care much to wear them because of the fact that people think she's a slut and the skirt only adds to that. we both know she's not a slut and I've told her I am in no way pressuring her to do it. I like her either way and when she does wear one, I make her feel good about it by not looking at other women and being kind to her. sounds cheesy I know but it works. that's really all they want. she knows I like when she's in them so she puts up with it as long as I treat her well when she does

i never thought about skirts making me look easy. I think they're cute, feminime and absolutely awesome :) I wear more skirts in summer than pants. even in winter it's tights and dress with a coat. it looks just feminime I love it<3

Who says? Woman do everything to please everyone else, not themselves.

Specially those nasty woman who speak about woman's rights, they are the ones who objectify the woman's body as an object.

What is wrong is just suggesting what would be a nice thing. If she does not like, it is up to her to say no. On the other hand, if someone is trying to convince again and again and again for a woman to do something she does not like is nothing but an a*sh*le.

thats why its the guys job to always make her feel comfortable no matter what. if she wants to wear either one. make sure your saying the same things. otherwise she probably won't do it again

OMG, a skirt is so sexy than jeans.

Take her to more classy occasions/parties, and then take her to a good shop and buy her a skirt. Or ask her waist size, and buy her a skirt of your taste, and nice on her. Then gift it, and just tell her that you would like it if she would wear that the next time you to go to a party or a hotel.

Also, be sure that she has other accessories that goes well with a skirt. Maybe she would need to get her legs waxed.

Also, when you buy her a skirt, you will also need to buy a pair of good stockings and nice shoes!

I remember, when I wanted my ex to wear a skirt, I took her to a nice shop and bought her a nice tartan skirt. I told her that I would like it a lot if she would wear it the next time we go to that restaurant. When I go there to pick her up, she was waxing her legs, and her best shoes was out and ready next to her bed.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by "uncomfortable." Physically? No. This might just be me, but I think they are much more comfortable in jeans. Unless you want to do something active other than just sit and look pretty.

But, on a modesty level, they could be very uncomfortable. They're all open and airy up there. They make you feel vulnerable.

Are you being unreasonable? My immediate response wanted to be yes, but then you said that she has often talked about how she wants to wear them, so she is interested.

So, your question seems to be a matter of helping her come out of her shell, in which case the only answer is to be supportive and reassuring. Tell her she looks great no matter what. This will make her a lot happier and more confident regardless of her apparel.

If it's a matter of -you- wanting her to wear them, I would first ask yourself this: what if she were trying to persuade you to wear a kilt or some other garment you weren't comfortable with?

One time we were close and she just wore a tight t-shirt and tight jeans, I couldn't believe how attractive she looked (hadn't seen her that way before), maybe that kind of convinced her to.

Uncomfortable?Not to me, anyway.In fact, I live in skirts, dresses and high heels, and feel more at home in those than in pants or jeans,but everyone's different,I suppose. If she's attractive, continue to re-inforce that notion,by telling her.It will add to her confidence. try playing a little game... When you're together and out somewhere and see an attractive woman in a skirt or dress, point it out to her and say something like," Honey, see that woman/lady/girl in that skirt overthere? She looks so hot/attractive, and you're even prettier than her. I couldn't imagine how wonderful YOU would be, in an outfit like that!" It's a shot,right? Also, if she's self conscious due to some kind of leg blemishes,or something, like some of the other commentators here, have suggested, then have her go for a nice sheer pair of hose, to go with the skirt.Hope this helps.

No, you're not being unreasonable. Maybe she's self-conscious about her legs even if she has no reason to be? Try and see if you can find out what's really bothering her about wearing skirts and see if you can dispel any of her worries. Or maybe if there's something she's really wanted you to do recently, offer her a lighthearted trade?

I was thinking that she thought she was fat, however she said that wasn't the case. It was that she rarely ever wore them in the past, and maybe finds it a hassle? Still I'm sure there has to be something that can convince her!

Who cares? Let her dress how she feels. Stop trying to force her to something you want. Be happy for who she is. She might end up feeling annoyed and angry with you and leave you if you pressure her to do sh*t like.. well..wearing something that doesn't matter. Now, don't get me wrong, if you're doing something for her, she should be willing to do something for you, but let her be comfortable with who she is and what she's doing. And same goes to you, don't do anything you aren't comfortable with, even if you think it might get you something you want. Don't do something she wants in the hopes that she might do something for you.

I have eczema and sometimes when it gets really bad I get dark patches and scars everywhere and I just hate my legs. I know if I went on a date I'd definitely cover up my legs! and uh well if the guy asked me to wear a skirt I would never. until my leg heals anyway.

then again, she could be like some of my friends, they're more comfortable with jeans. they might be so used to them that she just feels weird wearing skirts. these kinda stuff could be just a phase in life, and its harder to get her to change.

she may be self conscious about her legs. you could maybe compliment her legs more so that she can see that she has nothing to worry about... if she sees that her legs attract you then she will be sure to show more of them because it pleases you and girls are always looking for ways to catch your guys attention and tempt him. Just say she would look hot in a skirt. Anything with the word beautiful would probably help too. It's not unreasonable and it's not like you are asking her NOT to wear something she already owns. OR ask to go with her next time she shops and have her try on a skirt you pick out and rave about how amazing she looks in it even if you sound cheesy saying it!

Yep I've done that, I think these days she's getting more confident about her body, and that itself makes her feel way sexier. I think she's more open to the idea now.
