Told a girl I like her, but got no response. Is that a hint to stop trying?

So on the last day before Christmas break, I finally told the girl I've liked for years that I like her and asked her out. She said "Aw, that's sweet" but that she was going away for the holidays. School's started again and while for the first few days we didn't speak, we've since gone back to what we were before - pretty good friends. She hasn't told me if she likes me or not. Do I have a chance?

Well,she might just like you as a friend and if nothing else is said in reference to it,its almost as if nothing was said to begin with.So she may be avoiding the topic.OR...shes not bringing it up because she maybe wants to see where things go...however,dont hold your breath on that.:/ When two people have mutual feelings for each other,it comes out one way or the other. For now I would say,continue having a good friendship with her,and don't put all your eggs in one basket so to speak.Meaning,date other people. On the bright side,your friendship is still in tact and that's wonderful! Sometimes friendships are ruined when someone reveals their feelings and the other doesn't feel the same.Sometimes things are never the same afterward. But kudos to you for going for it! You're bold! Enjoy your friendship with her and don't mention those feelings again. If she feels the same,she will tell you.If not,just be good friends. Good Luck! :)
