A super volcano... Sounds terrifying, doesn't it?
Well, this 'monster' is real and it could destroy all of humanity in a few minutes. If a super volcano known as Yellowstone erupts today or tomorrow everything in around a distance of 1000 miles would be coated with ash, making the United States UNINHABITABLE!
This particular super volcano has enough lava to coat the United States with lava that is around 5 INCHES THICK! Of course, instantly after the eruptions happen the surrounding states, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, and others would be wiped off the map, this is because rock blown to an approximate two-hundred and 40 cubic miles of rock and anyone in a one-hundred square mile will be INSTANTLY killed.
Note that this super volcano is around two-thousand times the force than Mt. Saint Helen's eruption and would be way more powerful than any of the Nuclear weapons that have ever been tested. A week or two later millions of people would be dead from the initial blast that threw debris and rocks everywhere. Ash would be starting to fill the atmosphere and make temperatures lower up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit for YEARS. At this point, the United States would be inhabitable and our only hope is the countries away from the volcano to figure out a game plan to survive this.. 'nuclear winter'.
There would not be a way to survive all the way through the duration of the 'nuclear winter' as the last super volcanoes that have erupted made around 85% of land creatures extinct and an INCREDIBLE 95% of ocean creatures extinct. Without food, we cannot live. Unless you have an underground bunker with millions of canned food and lot's of gallons of water, then you will most likely not survive.
We do not have to worry about a super volcano erupting in our life time as there's only a 10% chance of a eruption.. But still, a 10% chance is a big deal. Will a super volcano erupt in our life time? Only time can/will tell...

Super volcanoes, asteroids, comets, nuclear war, plague, and countless other ways life on this planet could end rather quickly.
Rather than worrying about what you have no control over, how about simply enjoying the life you have!
Remember, eventually all life as we know it ends.
