I strongly condole the death of the black guy and i am strongly against racism but looting and burning property is a serious crime too and that too with innocent people suffering, i hope laws are made more strict and racism vanishes completely from our planet.

One time a six year old girl in my country accused a 49 year old man of molesting her. Soon a mob formed, grabbed the man, and beat him to death. Days later at least two individuals I spoke to said that the man had been innocent and not touched the girl.
Group think=complicity and guilt by association.
Love all the people, be the nicest version of yourself that you can be! Thats all I can offer to this heart-breaking situation.

Hey, @OlderAndWiser. In this thread, it sounds to me like this Wow Girl person alleges some user who dubbed himself Toast stalked another user. Stalking is a very serious allegation, that and she's talking about a woman as if she's a 12-year-old girl. This is an anonymous platform, so I don't know the real identity of anybody using @GirlsAskGuys. Stalking seems like a stretch to me. What do you think, @AndrewMG? What's the context that motivated these remarks?

I've a feeling you're not being anywhere near as subtle as you think you are and to tag me in thinking that I'm actually that naïve is slightly insulting.

I'm not trying to be condescending, @AndrewMG. Stalking is a serious allegation to make against another user. There are posting guidelines that discourage people from posting negatively about other users. She posted a Take earlier today that struck me as kinda odd, so I read some of her other posts. The behavior she exhibits strikes me as odd, at times. Portions of this take were pretty much copy + paste from other articles online. By no means I am trying to suggest you're naive; not my intention. That said, this is a public platform, so I'm free to post where I like. Nothing I said violates the terms of use of this site.
@xXHamsterHeartXx I've not read the take that you reference-that's what working a 12 hour day does for you-what I'm saying is you taking a personal interest in it and responding how you have and with the style of writing/grammar etc makes me think that maybe there's a little self interest at heart... I really don't think I need to spell what I'm saying out to you. Take it from me I don't think this is the right approach mate. I'm saying this as a nice guy who understands why you may be frustrated, annoyed, misunderstood at the reaction to previous posts etc but creating an alias and trying to cause conflict is not a sensible way forward. @WowwGirl @1828avaava1828 -he deactivated his account after my reply, I almost feel guilty-I don't think he's a bad lad necessarily I just think there's a few issues that probably come out when he's on social media/talking to strangers/put in certain social situations. No matter how much people try there true personality will come out over time on social media hence it was so easy to spot almost straight away who it was that tagged me in. Jeez, I need to be more ruthless, I feel guilty for outing him so quickly.

@WowwGirl It's a good point well made lol, I've had a 12 hour day at work though which has involved people shouting abuse at me so at the end of my shift I can't be doing with taking that out on a stranger on the internet, hence my compassionate side came out! lol
We love your big heart but that guy picked the way he wanted to go and that was harrassing and scarring us. Actually you probably were much nicer than myself would be so you kinda helped him not get emotional castrated by me

Hey, @AndrewMG: I suggest you read through some of the comments people leave behind on the posts this @WowwGirl makes. I'm not the only one who thinks she has a bad attitude. (And, @WowwGirl, the only reason that Ava girl decided she didn't like me was because I told you off in an angry response; that's what happened). You get yourself into conflicts with people on this platform quite a bit; that's a good sign that you should take some time for a good self-reflection.
Group think can be such a problem sometimes.

Her education is deficient. Example of Plagiarism: The remark, "The term was first introduced in the November 1971 issue of Psychology Today, in an article by psychologist Irving Janis", came literally from an online article about Group Think. Whether it goes against the guidelines for @GirlsAskGuys is another question. And, besides, just because the first person to do clinical research into the Group Think concept did their work in the early '70s doesn't mean the group think concept wasn't discussed in various forms before then. The Two Minutes of Hate, which appears in George Orwell's 1984 (published in 1948), illustrates quite well the negative consequences of group think theory. Don't need a degree in psychology to discuss the origins of group think theory.
What's the policy on plagiarism on this website, @OlderAndWiser? I personally think it does a disservice to this platform when people copy + paste from other sources online when writing a "My Take". There's a lot to be desired with posts like this.

That's fine, @OlderAndWiser. This is an informal site, so it isn't like it's a major issue either way. That said, I personally think it does a disservice to the website when people fail to acknowledge their sources when writing an article like this. Some of the points Wow Girl makes in this article are reasonable and justified. I agree with some of the things she said. Plagiarism weakens the merits of a person's arguments, nonetheless. The way she responded to the original comment in this thread seems misguided to me. Don't need a psychology degree to appreciate that the origins of the "Group Think" theory might extend beyond the origins of clinical research. But, anyhow, I'm just going off on a tangent here.
@AndrewMG, I suggest you read through the first few posts to this particular thread. Someone points out that the concept of Group Think was addressed as part of George Orwell's 1984. Although, clinically, group think was discussed in psychology literature no earlier than 1984, the subject was mentioned earlier than that, in various forms, in popular culture. It was published in 1948, not long after the end of WWII. Nazi-era Germany was notorious for what is now known as group think. Wow Girl tries to discredit this guy by asking, "Do you have a psych degree?" It reads to me like, "Group think is bad unless you disagree with my opinion".
