Could someone explain the meaning of this phrase to me please? I'm not a native speaker and I can't find a definition on google.

e. g. He was seen cutting her meat up.

Not sure if it's slang for beat her up?

To me it refers to an over bearing mother than always cuts her son's meat ( steak, pork chop etc ..) up for him even though he's old enough to do it himself. So he would be a mama's boy so to speak.

Ex. I can't believe she cut's up his meat for him!
