Why do people support Abortion?

I mean I get it if the woman was raped or if her health is in danger but if you read the statistics, abortions from rape or health problems are less than 5% of the total abortions that happen in America. 95% of women that have had abortions have them because the baby is simply and inconvenience to them at that time in their life. That's our modern way of thinking. Marrying, having kids used to be a beautiful thing and now its just an inconvenience to 1 in 3 women. Yes 1 in 3 American women will have an abortion in their life. More than 500,000 abortions happen every year in America. Around 60,000 prior die from drug overdose and 15,000 people are killed by guns, on average. So abortion is the slaughter of unborn babies. It is. Even if they are featuses they are still human. At around 20 weeks a "feutus" is developed, just very small. And women can legally go in and get him/her ripped out and thrown in a bin.

I know I'm going to get hate for this. Liberals will attack me and make me feel wrong for having my own opinion. To me abortion is wrong and cruel (its understandable if rape or health problems are involved) but most women get pregnant, think of the child as a mere inconvenience, go to a climic, have the baby ripped out, limb by limb, them they leave smiling. And most people agree with that? Its quite sad that very few people oppose abortion. It just goes to show how the atheists and liberals have brainwashed our society to where 1 in 3 women think of babies as worthless.

I think it's good that is legal. You know, in communism it was forbidden, my grandma talked about it. So there were some girls that would do it for themselves, with forks and things they've found. It might happen that I become pregnant, if I have unprotected sex with my loved one, but I am happy to know that there is a place where people help me. And it will be removed as safely and painlessly as possible.
A feutus for me is not a human, I wouldn't feel like I killed it. Now, think about it, if I were to get pregnant and keep the child. How will s/he live? I can't offer her good accomodation, enough food/toys/clothes. I am by far not ready to become a mother. So s/he will probably grow up to be a bitch or an asshole. That is all to it. I had many discussions like this and heard many different opinions on this subject. I know that you won't change your way of thinking about it, because you seem very fixed on your idea. I've only stated my opinion.

Yes, I'm sure many of those abortions are the result of the mother not having taken responsibility for preventing the pregnancy in the first place, which is a very crappy reason. Then again, is forcing a child to be born to irresponsible and unwilling parents less cruel? These people would be responbsible for that child's wellbeing for 18 years, and affect the rest of their lives.

Wrong, in most states in the US a woman can get a abortion (not to save her life, just if she chooses to) at 7 months, 1 or 2 states its 8 months. And a baby can live outside the womb at 6. So even if you use the feutus argument, after 6 months the baby is an individual, and they can still be killed. That's wrong.

i think you are perhaps reading 8months pregnant incorrectly. 8 months pregnant means that a woman has 8 months til she gives birth so she has only been pregnant for 1 month.
no where in the US can you get an abortion beyond the 1st trimester, so after a woman has been pregnant for more than 3 months

those 43 states as i said have laws barring abortions after the 1st timester, 20 weeks (so effectively 3 months/1trimester), 24 weeks (effectively 3months/1 trimester) or viability (which is currently about 18 weeks i believe)

and those other states, as i said, don't have the restrictions but generally (and you can look up the statistics) don't allow abortions after the 1st trimester unless the life of the mother or fetus are in jeopardy. they have no law in place to avoid legal battles in the cases of mothers who's health may be in jeopardy

the 7 states have no written prohibitions... VT, OR, NJ, DC, CO, NH, NM... so no not the most populated states in fact rather far from it. abortions after 21 weeks makes up 1.2% of total abortions in a calendar year.

as you seem to just be making up stuff (like the number of states offering abortions up to 8 months into a pregnancy, the specific states that do, etc) it makes your overall argument begin to lose TONS of credibility as you show that you aren't basing your info on facts but your opinions

the fetuses are not ripped apart. you can take the abortion pill at 21 weeks. the states with no restrictions do so (if you read) to avoid legal battles for women who want to get an abortion beyond 21 weeks. but in those states the only way to get an abortion beyond 21 weeks is to be able to prove that the health of the birth mother or child is at stake... i've said all this multiple times so i'm kind of done. you don't like abortion i get it. i hoped you could at least dislike it while still knowing the facts...

I think the argument for it is that, the parents having the "baby" (depending on your view of if the fetus is a baby or not) are clearly not financially or emotionally ready for a child, if they are put into the foster system, a favorable outcome is unlikely. And, some people are not meant to be parents, and would mess the kid up. So, some think that if you stop the process before it/he/she develops a brain and heart and eyes, and has no characteristics of life yet then it's better to stop it from being born. People debate on when the cut off should be and so forth, and some believe that as soon as the egg meets the sperm it is considered life. (Not sharing my opinion, just explaining some arguments on both sides.)

If you remove abortion, they’re either going to abort less than legally (dangerous!) or they’ll have babies they don’t want/hate. Those future children will be raised unloved and unwanted. They’ll fill orphanages, become a financial drain on their parents, become sources of stress, etc.

Babies should bring happiness, joy, love, etc. But forcing women to bring them to term will bring the opposite. It’s not brainwashing by “atheists and liberals”, it’s cold, hard logic.

@madhatters4 In the U. S maybe and that might well be a cause of better knowledge and availability of birth control. In my country at least, the biggest reason for a slight decrease in the number of abortions is the fact that people are being more careful during sex, using condoms and the woman being on the pill, for example, so 'accidental' pregnancies don't happen nearly as often. And as far as I know, the attitude about abortions has done nothing, but move towards more positive, so there isn't much of a stigma about it anymore and people who think that abortions shouldn't be available are an ever shrinking minority.

how isn't that positive? who cares if the attitude towards pro choice is growing if the number of abortions is dropping? do you care more about aborted babies or people having a difference of opinion on legal or ethical merits of abortions?

@madhatters4 I don't care about either really, but if I had to choose, yes, I'd care more about peoples opinions about legal and ethical merits of abortions, because if the attitude starts going towards the negative, then that means that abortions might well be made illegal again, which will increase the number of unwanted children and the amount of abortions made through illegal doctors, which will always be more of a danger to the mothers health and safety as well. That's why I'd consider it more important that the opinion of "pro-choice" is the dominant one and keeps that way, even if it meant that the number abortions would stay roughly the same. Even if they wouldn't outright ban abortions, it would still bring back the social stigma and pressure on women who don't want to keep a child, but feel forced to either keep the unwanted child or go to said illegal doctors to keep secrecy.
