I don’t know if it makes them any better or not. they don’t get kicked in the balls frequently when I spar since it happens unintentionally

I believe you, that it's unintentional! But you would think that a guy would wear a cup after being kicked there once or more, and seeing it happen to other guys, even if it's unintentional.

Or are you guys holding back while sparring?

I’ve never experienced a guy puking or passing out from getting kicked in the balls, they are in a little bit of pain but they recover quickly. We don’t hold back while sparring and I personally don’t think they’re better

I've seen guys take a kick in the nuts with a cup on, and fall like a sack of potatoes and fight for consciousness. It's not just a little pain. And it doesn't go away any faster than any other pain either.
