How can one be more cool?

Despite one's best efforts, I must concede that I am not cool. I established this for definite on a night out last Saturday. I tried to get a female's attention by tapping her shoulder. It struck me that I flirt with all the grace of Boris Johnson.

Are you cool? Is there a formula to being cool?

Is it about honesty? A lack of agreeableness? A slightly surly, seldom smiling face like beabadoobee?

Can an Englishman be cool?

I think it's about not trying and being oneself, now that I think about it.

I am not cool. I used to want to be when I was younger. Now I sometimes wish I was hot. I am neither hot or cool. My goal is to live an independent life where I don't have to take orders from another.
