Guys what do you think about my opinion on not wanting children?

There was a guy I really liked but he dumped me for not wanting kids. Is a man really wanting kids really that important to him?

Like for me I feel that my spouse is much more important than kids. Like you have kid's then you feed them, take care of them and raise them and make sure everything is payed for and set them off to a good school\collage but in the end kids move out of your house and move on with there own lives and deal with there own problems. All you have left in life is your partner who truly takes care of you and is the only person your able to talk to in life...

Does your opinion sound stupid? Not really. That's a very impersonal way to view the forwarding of humanity. However, that's the way you view it. Not everyone thinks like that.

Nonetheless, a guy's idea about WANTING kids is equally as important to him! If having children are that important, what's the point in continuing dating you, regardless how much you love him? It's all a total waste of time (to him) if you don't want a family.

When I was divorced, I was about your age too. There was a MAJOR difference in dating at 35 vs. dating at 18! The women I dated (and even myself) viewed our futures as something to be attained. If someone didn't share similar goals, they got dropped. We weren't about to date anyone for 4-5 years before we decided our futures aligned. We viewed our time as something not to be wasted on pointless pursuits!

Why waste ANY time with someone who had different goals? In your case, it's polar opposite ones at that! I definitely don't blame the guy for dumping you. I'm surprised you didn't dump him!

No. in a way it makes sense. Kids are not for everyone. You are right that they are a big responsibility and yes they tend to grow up and eventually have their own lives. That is really a good thing however. My kids are grown up and living on their own but we are still involved in their lives.
The logical thing is to find a guy who does not want kids either. I have neighbors that do not want kids. They are happy going on nice vacations and dining out. My wife and i were trying to figure out how we would pay our bills for the month.

Obviously it's something he cared about a great deal. I personally doubt my ability to raise children in a healthy fashion, even though I tend to lean toward the idea of being a father. My career doesn't really lend itself to providing children with a good sense of grounding. I would rather just donate to a sperm bank to help a family that can't have children on their own.

It’s a logical opinion and not everyone needs to have kids or should since some are terrible parents but it’s instinct to want to because we want our DNA to continue. Maybe just find a guy that already had kids prior. Many divorced dads out there. I don’t want any more kids now

Well, there is no guarantee that your children that you raise and care for, will be there for you later. And how many middle aged or older adults have adult children that are functional anyway? I know a lady who is in her 70's and her 43 year old daughter has never been a functional adult. Same with people who I know who have adult kids still at home.
