This is another in a series of geography questions. Each question will contain several things about a country and the goal is to guess what country that is. We'll try to go through the alphabet in order, and have a new question each day.

Things about this country:

* It shares a border with the poorest country in its hemisphere

* Its athletes have won a total of 12 Olympic medals through 2022

The correct answer is Dominican Republic.

Some details on the hints:
Most popular sport is baseball, several Major League players are from the Dominican Republic
It borders Haiti, which is the poorest in the Western Hemisphere
Tourism... many Caribbean cruises stop at the Dominican Republic, and there are several popular resorts

I was going to guess Denmark, just based on a D country. But there's no poor countries near Denmark (hell, it's near Luxembourg, one of the richest countries). So the only D country I know is the Dominican Republic and that's a pretty poor country itself. I don't know their religious makeup, though.

This took a while. I eliminated Denmark pretty quickly. Since it's not in Europe, being Christian pointed toward Central or S America.

I'm gonna guess Dominican Republic.

It's probably Christian. It shares a border with Haiti (poor country). I can believe tourism is it's #1 industry. No idea about Olympic medals.

I say, Dominican Republic. It’s mostly Christian ( Catholics) and it’s neighbor is Haiti, one if the most poorest island countries in the Caribbean, if not the poorest.
