Accidentally broke the shower door - will landlord make us pay?

Anonymous

This whole situation is pretty stupid and my question probably is too. I'm currently at university and just moved into my private rented accommodation today. Only me and 2 of my other housemates have moved in and I think one of them has used the shower before. I went to take a shower tonight and the door was half-closed with just enough space for me to put my things into it. I tried to open it fully but it didn't budge so I closed it further and then tried to open it again. It didn't budge. I kept trying to close then open it and then I just pulled/pushed it really hard and the top two things that attach the shower door to the shower broke off, so I was essentially holding the door to the bottom. I can't exactly remember what I did but I think I tried to push it back and one of the bottom roller things broke. I called in one of my housemates and we tried to put it back together and the whole door just came off its frame/rollers detached.

Yes the shower door was really rusted at its hinges but I DID push it way too hard. On the plus side, the actual glass hasn't broken and I think this can be easily fixed by just sliding the door back into place. My housemate's boyfriend is going to look at it tomorrow but obviously if it's not fixed we'd have to tell the landlord and get it fixed professionally. My question is if they'd make us pay for it? Is it completely my fault or can I try and shine some light onto the rusted shower hinges? And does anyone know how to fix a shower?
