Do you believe everyone is meant to look the way they do regarding their physical appearance, or that some people are just more lucky than others?

Pictures represented or how my friends feel/felt about the issue. Obviously; I'm short and ugly, so I believe some of us just completely lose the genetic lottery in life. As I did. I have literally NO positives regarding my physical appearance/looks. Literally nothing. It sucks, sometimes. But not everyone agrees with my perspective on looks. Some feel "everyone is beautiful in their own way," especially some women. But is that really true? Really?

Yes, I believe everyone is special in their own way because beauty is subjective and they can be appreciated for being unique.

No; looks are completely a choice and I believe ANYONE can be tall and good-looking if they work hard enough for it.

You are just going to look how you are going to look based on genetics to a certain extent, but when it comes to being fat/slobby/unclean/ poorly dressed / unattractive in a sense beyond the physical, that is completely choice. With rare exceptions due to disease, of course. I've seen a lot of unattractive/gross looking people who could have been immensely improved if they would have just done something simple and obvious, like babe regularly or have a decent haircut. And I do think you can be special and beautiful in your own way if you have a really great personality, but just to be honest I don't care how nice of a personality someone has if I can't bear to stand by them because of how bad they smell.

I would say genetics definitely play the biggest role in how someone looks. There are people who are unable to lose weight because of Some condition they inherited and losing weight in general is inheritable. People tend to have an easier time being as fit as their parents were (so fat kids are more likely to have had fat parents). Parents who have kids after a food storage also tend to have kids who have a slower metabolism than average.

Beauty itself isn't subjective more the most part, symmetrical faces for example are usually viewed as more attractive and youthful traits are selected for in women and height and such are selected for in guys. These are also usually inherited.

Yes, that's what I voted for. There's usually things people can do to look better but there's always a limitation to it.

There is definitely some genetics to it. But even a lot of what isn't genetics, is nutrition, and that is also out of a person's control for most growth/development. Of course there is also things people can do themselves to help, but they don't work for everyone, or everything. It's a lot of luck.

When I was old enough to afford it, I started eating healthier and doing daily cardio and weight lifting, since my non-mother never fed us and I basically survived on school lunches every day (and my grandmother's cooking on weekends, when at her house.) But it wasn't enough to undo the damage, since I was already a teenager by then. My parents aren't super-short; my non-mother was 5'6" and my father was 6'0.5". But I still ended up short; an inch and a half below even my father, in fact. MOST men equal or outgrow their dads.

The gift trope, some people are more lucky than others, some people are better than others, not a politically correct thing to say but it's true, also it's not based only on luck, it based on the parents genes as well, though my father has blue eyes while I don't, unfortunately.

Really I just believe it's up to what kind of genetic of the parents have and how good they took care of themselves.. But, I do believe you can do the best you can to look your best..

Follow up question: If someone was born from ugly obese parents and they end up being short, ugly, and overweight due to it, no matter what kind of lifestyle they led, is it their fault they didn't exercise more or do cosmetic surgery? Or were they doomed from the start?

I guess that would answer my question more so.
