Did I fail to yield to an emergency vehicle?

Today i was driving and was gonna turn left but then i saw a speeding firetruck and i panicked because he was heading right at me through the middle. I ended up just sitting there stopped until the firetruck finally had to go around me and he seemed pissed because he raised his arm on me. I probably should have turned left sooner but i just panicked and got anxious because he was going fast and head on. Do you think this firetruck might have had a dashcam and i could get into trouble for failing to yield?

To me you while you did stop you made them go around you. Even if it was too late for you to make that left turn you could have changed lanes so they are a smoother route. Even you could have straddled another lane as to demonstrate that you were yielding to emergency vehicles. You could get a ticket BUT most of the time the firetruck operator will call the tag into the police. You should consider yourself lucky.

I wouldn't worry about it. If they say something you can tell them that you didn't want to make a sudden move and cause another accident. The fire truck driver was probably frustrated with you but that's life. You can't just evaporate to get out of the way.

If you panic and can't take appropriate action in an emergency, perhaps you shouldn't be driving at all.

We can't do everything right each single moment when we are in traffic.

Anyhow, I frustrate rescue and emergency vehicles myself frequently... they can't keep pace :D
