Why is it that when I get sad and upset my boyfriend is leaving me to go home, he gets mad at me for being sad?

We spend time together here and there, usually all day but then I get sad and upset (not overtly) but he can tell. And instead of comforting me, he becomes upset and irritable that I am sad to see him go…

My uncle has a girlfriend who does the same as you and he to get annoyed at his girlfriend when she gets upset when he leaves.

He finds it annoying because she acts like she is never going to see or hear from him again when she sees him every couple of weeks for the entire weekend and she also sees him at Easter and Christmas. They also talk every day as well.

You have to ask yourself if the shoes were on the other feet would you be OK with someone constantly getting sad over the fact you have to leave to go home?

I understand but I love him and it’s not easy being apart when you love someone.

I understand it. I've been in that position when I could only see my now ex once a month but you have to remember some guys may feel smothered when their girl gets upset over him leaving because he needs to go home. Im a woman and i probably would get annoyed as well.

I know it is hard when he leaves but remember you will see him again.

He doesn't understand how to handle negative emotion. He wants to stop the sadness.

No, but I get upset when he leaves bc we’re apart for so long. Never enough time together. But I don't know y he’d get mad. I wasn’t angry. Was just sad to see him go and he knew that. Just don’t know y he’d get mad about that. Almost like he was annoyed. Like he didn’t understand and leaving me didn’t bother him either?
