What does it mean if a girl says she'll get back to you and does?

I asked a girl out, and she told me that she'd get back to me. Usually that means she's not interested, so I assumed it was a no and considering that she ignored me the next time I saw her in person, I pretty much confirmed it was. But then the next day she texted me and acted like we were still on.

How should I take this? Be kinda mad because it doesn't seem like she really wants to go? Or be happy that maybe she discussed it with her friends first? In either case, my interest has plummeted a little because I thought she'd say yes right away and didn't.

Well, instead of wondering how to take it (because there are a couple of different scenarios I can think of), go on that first date and make a decision about her after the date.

I will say that you don't mention if she actually said "yes" and you have a date set. When you asked her out, did you ask her for a specific day and time? If she has not actually said yes, then you do need to ask her.

I was trying to make a specific date and time, but she kept saying I'll get back to you.

Then she came back a few days later and asked what time.

1. She had something on her mind and needed to get back to you. 2. She just had someone do something that upset her or concerned her and she wasn't thinking straight. 3. She has a lot going on and did not want to accept without checking her schedule. 4. She was seeing someone and they split and she was thinking about whether she was ready to go out with someone again. 5. She was surprised that you asked her out and had not thought of you that way so needed to let it sink in...

She could simply be socially awkward or a little off on how to respond when you need to check your schedule. Really, alone,this is not enough to think she did not want to date you. If she does not follow through or the first date is a bust, then let her go, but if you are interested enough, don't hold this against her.

I would assume it's a no or I'm indecisive. some girls are indecisive. within a reasonable waiting time, one should know if it's complete rejection or not.

well, the thing with her is that she DID get back to me eventually and basically was willing to go. Should I be miffed that she made me wait?

My best bet, the only reason she said she'll get back to you is because she wanted to wait and she if someone else wanted to hang out with her first. You are nothing more then her back up, which means she really doesn't care about you at all and that will most likely never change. Let me also guess, is she really pretty?

i wouldn't say she's really pretty. she's pretty, but not someone guys will hound after. I thought I was getting a pretty good vibe from her (she touches me a lot, etc.)

Go out with her and see where it goes, but if she starts acting hot and cold again or acting like "am the sh*t you have to work for my attention" cut off all contact with her, she is not worth it at all.
