My boyfriend always jokes and I can't talk seriously with him, help?

my boyfriend is very funny ( which I like) but sometimes I would like to talk with him seriously.. I mean topics like for example hunger in the world.. etc.. but he makes jokes of everything.

When I ask him serious question, for example what does he think about using animals in circus, he always reply joking . I told him 3 times that sometimes I would like to talk seriously with him and he replied .. " yes yes boss" and keep joking.

It is impossible to talk with him seriously, really.

Should I just accept it? maybe most girls would be happy having such funny boyfriend? is this me who is wrong? I just don't know what to do..

I think whether or not he can seriously discuss world issues with you is not necessarily a problem, unless its very important to YOU to discuss those things with him. But you can discuss them with other people.

I would suggest you consider

- > can he have a real conversation about YOU and HIM and YOUR RELATIONSHIP. That's critical. Discussing animal rights with him may not be.

but I can't have real conversation with him even about ME and HIM, he makes jokes of everything, even if it's discussion about us he may be serious for one minute then say something funny again.

I am not sure if he is good person or not, because how can I know it if I don't know what he thinks about hunger in the world, about cheating, and other serious things

Than he might not take you an your relationship that serious. If he thinks everything is a Joke. Is that small flaw worth breaking up with him, or will you compromise.

My ex boyfriend was like that as well. Every time I talked to him about something intellectual or something I was studying at school he would call me a nerd, or tell me I was being too serious. Note I said "ex"? Yep.

That's annoying and disrespectful. I would sit him down and tell him everything you told us. It would be a deal breaker for me, if he wouldn't talk seriously with me at all.

It's part of his personality. He does need to understand that there are times where joking is inappropriate. I suppose you could avoid laughing when you're having a serious conversation, but that may backfire and result in an argument.
