Long story short, this girl has been mad at me for months because I was a jerk. Recently we had a situation where she needed assistance and I helped her and she seemed to be grateful and after months of NOT wanting me to talk to her and telling me to leave her alone, she was a little nicer to me. At the end of the day, she said thanks to which I told her I'm always happy to help her. As I was leaving and I was making a joke to one of me friends, she turned around to look at me and she gave me that half smile with eye contact, while in the last 3 months she wouldn't look at me and would always have an angry look on her face.
We always had a "weird" relationship. We weren't friends, but we just spent so much time together talking and we knew each other so well. We would argue like a married couple, tease each other, give each other a hard time and we would always smile when we talked. When she got mad, it was like a piece of me went missing and when I saw that smile, some of it came back. I've told her how much I miss her (when she was mad) and now I wonder if she has forgiven my stupid mistakes. She has started conversations and smiling and while it isn't much, its a big step from where we were.
