I feel like my boyfriend threw me under the bus?

I am staying with my boyfriend over the summer. Since his mom and grandma have keys to his house, they periodically stop over and clean up after him. His grandma would move my stuff around and would make it hard for me to feed my pet or get ready for work because I wouldn't know where anything was.

I told him that I would label my things and if he could just kindly ask his grandma not to move my stuff around. I hate conflict so I thought I would make it easier.

Obviously, I became annoyed so when I got to his place on my lunch break to see his grandma there washing the dishes I wasn't too pleased. I was polite like usual and friendly, however, I guess she sensed I was acting different.

Long story short, she called my bf to ask if she should stop coming over because she thought I was acting weird, and he said yes because she's making it hard on our relationship. His grandma started crying and saying she only wanted to help & didn't want to make our relationship suffer and agreed to stop coming over. She called his mom, and his mom talked to him and asked if I didn't like them coming over or something. He said yes because it weirded me out so stop coming over.

I feel like he threw me under the bus because for sometime now (even before me) he has wanted them to stop coming over and messing with his stuff. I feel like they may resent me now and I have no clue what to do. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Yes, he for sure tossed you there. I would talk to his mom and grandma directly, woman to woman. I would thank them for their hard work and tell them how grateful you were that they did that and how much you appreciated it. I would say you did not mean to insult them and what was said by your bf wasn't exactly the way you wanted it expressed. Then I would tell them that you just want your own independence and want to be able to take care of things your self. You wanted to contribute more as a part of the relationship. Tell them that you value their efforts and they can certainly help should you need it with something! Then invite them over for supper so there are no bad feelings.

Maybe ask him why he did that/? I don't think he should do that to you, that's unfair and makes him kind of an asshole...
if he doesn't have a good explanation, consider leaving him, who knows what he'll do in the future. But don't be aggressive when approaching the subject, maybe its all a misunderstood and its his mother's or grandmother's fault, we all know what mothers in law may think about that kind of stuff
