My girlfriend wants me to quit drinking?

i blackout drunk everyday and its impossible for me to be an alcoholic since i started drinking at 19. i didn't get the college experience since i went to community college and work as a club promoter. and have aspergers so i dont have the biggest social skills. anyway she wants me to quit drinking. i only blackout drunk everyday so i am like a college kid so i dont see how this is bad since college kids do it all the time. Bieing a club/party promoter encourages this lifestyle. i drink a lot for work and my job allows me to sleep in late everyday. how can i get her to stop asking me to stop drinking

most college kids do not get blackout drunk everyday. I went to a catholic college, about 75% of the students were Irish Catholic who have about 80% chance of a family history of alcoholism, and few to none of my friends blackout every day.

the fact is drinking to the point of blacking out regularly is the sign of a drinking problem. I think you should consider curbing or at least significantly cutting back on your booze.

being a promoter and/or in college is not a good excuse to drink to excess daily

If you blackout drunk everyday, then yes, you are an alcoholic and you need help. The age at which you started drinking has absolutely nothing to do with it.

She wants you to clean up because she cares about you. This is very unhealthy for you to lice like this.

Blackout drunk every day? You're an alcoholic. Alcoholics are always in denial. It's not good for you man... going to fry your liver, kidneys, brain...

If you want to stay with her, you're the one who will have to compromise by cutting back significantly or quitting alcohol all together. It's unlikely that she'll stay with you for much longer if you continue like this.

People drink in college and university, I know. I went to university... they don't drink and party as much as you do, on average. Don't use that to justify your drinking problem, because it's not true for most students. It would be wise to at least cut back for your body and your health, but if you're unwilling to do that, you have to just tell her so and let her decide if she wants to stick around or not. You're going to put the ball in her court.

This would be a deal breaker: Stop drinking or I walk. So, choose the boos or the girl. Maybe you can choose the boos since you are promoter you can get a different girl in bed every time you work and you can keep drinking.

Getting black-out drunk is bad for you no matter what your age is. Doing it everyday and not seeing it as a problem definitely means that you are an alcoholic. Now you just have to choose which is more important: being sober with her or being blacked-out/dead without her.

If you are blackout drunk daily then you are most likely an alcoholic. She is probably wanting you to stop or at least reduce it a little for your benefit and i'm not so sure you can make her stop asking you. Clearly your drinking is worrying her.

Go to a counsellor with experience with Asperger patients. Only somebody like that can help you to deal with it.
