Does a boyfriend usual let his girlfriend help pick out clothes for him?

My bf is going job hunting so we stopped by value village to pick out a dress shirt and dress pants for him.

He let me help choose a dress shirt and said I had a better eye for colors and patterns.

Is this a usual thing? I never had that in my previous relationship.

Also I would like to point out he asked me to help pick it out. I didn't ask or anything.

That's not usually the case, but it is wise to gather insight from others before making an investment.

When I'm browsing racks, I occasionally see the awkward son/mother combo at the fitting rooms, and the mothers makes the final call, and the son's opinion comes secondary. The boys that grow up to accept this tradition are likely to defer style opinions to others.

I'm kinda color blind myself so my girl helps me all the time with what colors go with what. I have no fashion sense at all. I have no clue what colors go with what. Shit I can't tell the difference between blue and purple. Besides if I let her pick out the dress shirt and pants, I'll look good before I put it on ;)
